Tbh i expected this. Football does come together in instances like this.
Football is an irrelevance in these circumstances. Family and livelihood will always come first over any rivalry, and respect must be shown always IMO.
You’ve always got to compare to yourself when this happens and how awful you would be feeling. Cristiano and his family deserve our blessings.
This would be a great gesture this. Fair play.

Couldn’t have worded it better
It would be a great gesture tbf , the football family sticking together , pity the minority of city fans couldn’t do it on Saturdays Fa cup semi
Condolences to the Ronaldo family
Also would be a nice gesture if you don’t score against us before 7th minute pasts
Not sure how to put a negative spin on this. As a journalist, this makes my job very difficult.
I shall do a bit of research on elasticity to determine at which price point paying a number of fans to boo makes my story most profitable.
So far, I have calculated it as 20 fans at £50 each. Enough to be heard through the clapping and optimal for profit generation from my story/video.
Quality gesture that will go around the world

On a (kind of) serious note, what does actually happen in these circumstances if a team scores at the allotted time? Does the planned applause just sort of spontaneously take over when the goal celebrations have started to die down?
I only ask because I can’t remember a game with such a gesture in which I was expecting so many goals…

There are snipers on the rooftops…anyone who stops clapping will be shot.
So in short, I’ve no idea. I guess we’ll find out.
Nice, I think a minute’s applause is always the way to go at football games rather than a minute’s silence anyway, drown out any potential nobheads however small a minority they may be
Also, will the minute's applause take place in the 7th minute like they are saying, i.e at 06:00-06:59 or in the 8th minute, 07:00-07:59? I bet it will be the 8th.
Someone needs to clear this up for good, going forward.
Never forget the reception from spurs fans visiting the bridge after Matthew Harding tragedy. Well done Liverpool Fans if true.

Surely it would start when 7 first hits the clock, with 7 being the key number here.

Yes, applause does more poignant and touching, maybe even more ‘genuine’, than silence somehow.

Well if they provide instructions for everyone to wait 1 minute or start their watches at -1 minute then that’s all that’s needed?
Wonder if Burnley fans will be organising a plane to fly over saying "Messi matters Burnley"
