Given the above, I fail to see the context of your post

Pep would still have to prove he can do it without megabucks and Messi imo. He probably wouldn’t but we will always ask could he have done it with an Arsenal for example. Somewhere he can’t buy the very best and make multi million mistakes.

Maybe Spanish 606 have people with that opinion?

Peps Barca weren’t all about messi. They’d walk the current PL, Liverpool and city would be swept aside. Admittedly messi was a big part of that but there was some great players alongside, goat team.

Although I understand why making the point, if you're Pep, why would you, or why would you feel the need to? The best clubs earn the most income and have the ability to buy the best. If you're a top manager why would you take a step down from your current role just to appease critics when you're already at the top.

As poor as it has ever been. Very poor standard with two good teams and a collection of shat. Wolves have been awful all season and still sit eighth ffs

You’ve got to understand after the top 2 or 3, it starts looking average and more realistic. Europe is a good indicator and in every comp you have an English team.

I think right now we are seeing quite a low bar in world football all over.

Agreed, the top 2 are very good, Chelsea are decent but have had a lot of off the field turmoil this season.

The rest of the league is shiete, Spurs sacked their manager in October but are in with a realistic chance of 4th. Arsenal are managed by a dud and have no reliable striker but are favourites for fourth. United are laughably bad, sacked their manager half way through but will finish 6/7th.

West Ham have cycled through 16 players in their 198 game season but are still on course for Euro qualification. Wolves can barely win at home but are 8th.

The league is awful at the moment, the weakest I can remember

Wolves have some quality players most foreign teams would take. I'd certainly say they have more valuable players than their foreign counterparts, I'm a similar position. The reason they've had trouble winning recently is because any team can beat any team on its day, bar one or two teams.

I'm a Dundee United fan and agree - even it in the Scottish leagues. We're sitting a fairly comfortable 4th in the league with a team that would have been relegation fodder a decade ago. We have so little quality but others below us are even worse.

Doesn't help that a lot of our best youth players are taken away by middling English clubs to rot in the reserves on mega money. You'd think they'd look at the career of Andy Robertson as inspiration...

That’s the same with all the major leagues - Bochum beating Dortmund the weekend just gone for instance, even though Haaland scored a hat trick.

The Prem is poo at the moment. Euro footy isn’t great either - 34 year old Benzema is dominating the CL

All soccer quality sucks at present

I enjoy Serie A as is inturnally comoetetive n fun but the teams r sheet really compare too passed

I think many here are suffering from nastalgia. The quality of football is pretty good. The best period was probably 08-18 with the Spanish dominance, but overall this is the most balanced.

And when you look at points needed for 4th place etc, the current race is fairly similar. You can't have a good team finishing 4th, that team by essence needs to be a few levels below the team that won the title.

City, only missing CL as we all know. Get that trophy this season, and does Pep have anything left to prove? They’ll go down as the most dominant team in history of English football once a CL title is in the bag

Well Klopp at Liverpool is about to complete the set. He's won them all.

Only thing he hasn't won is the FA cup and Liverpool are in the final of that.

The Euro semis - England had 4, Spain 2, Germany 2, France 1, Scotland 1, Holland 1, Italy 1.

So compared to the rest of Europe we look alright, but watching the Prem week in and week out, Arsenal and Spurs are really poor and inconsistent, yet one of them will finish 4th

Tell me a team that has challenged for 4th that looked consistent that season? I can only recall Liverpool when they finished 3rd couple seasons back who on paper weren’t poor but they were inconsistent as hell regardless.
No 4th team in Europe is ever ‘good’ vs the teams they finish below against.
