It will be interesting to see if Ten Hag can get more out of the current bunch.
You could argue that every player that played today is not good enough to carry us forward.

I doubt performances from the current bunch are that relevant. We have an interim coach. We know that, the players know that. They know he’s not exactly great at getting players to run through walls for him so I think all parties are seeing the season out.
Once the players sniff a new manager who actually has some power and control they’ll try again.

It is but I’d imagine a few players being shipped out and new ones coming in will give the manager ‘his’ players which in turn will give him a power balance in his favour.
Depends on the players I guess. We need to be ruthless with this squad over the next year. That’s been a huge problem at the club, the players know they can coast and still remain at the club.

That’s even more reason they should be kicked out.
It’s one thing to not be top quality but try hard, that can be worked with and coached on.
To just not try because “it doesn’t matter he’s not our full time boss”.
That should be eradicated.

I think this particular bunch of players had an easy touch in Ole and didn’t really ever feel they had to go above and beyond their comfort zone while he was there. I think that’s what’s happened to Bruno. He probably wasn’t one of those types of players and came in all guns blazing but as time has gone on he’s been dragged down to the performance levels of the rest. Ronaldo is a phenom and will usually always turn up but the others are part of a ‘meh’ culture.
I don’t know much about Ten Hag but I assume he’s someone who won’t take shiiiit. He has an opportunity to really change the culture at the club and I really hope the powers that be above him give him carte blanche to wield a mighty stick.
I mean you just got beat 4-0 of Brighton ffs. Brighton don’t score goals, and it should have been 6-0 easy.
The entire lot need to be moved on over the next 2 seasons.

Gerrards last game we got whacked 6-1 by Stoke (Gerrard got our goal).
Only Henderson, Firmino, Milner and Gomez are still here from when Klopp joined and you'd have to think similar squad surgery will be needed.

The final was a result of failure though and the comebacks were as a result of often starting games badly and the better players bailing us out. People like Bruno and Rashford who for me aren’t the cancers in the dressing room. The ones that care.
Even under Ole they were a mentally flakey bunch. Scraping wins when playing shiiiiiit shouldn’t have detracted from the issues in the team.

I can see only these (non youth) players being at the club as ETH goes into his third season
Sancho
Rashford (hopefully we convince him to stay)
Bruno
McT (as a purely squad player)
DDG (as we’ll never be able to shift him)
