Emerson is a tricky one. If he could improve his crossing and output in the final third then we could have a player on out hands but it will require time and patience. The form of Doherty before he got injured was the standard that is required to make the wing back role work in Conte's system.
As for Sess, he needs a run of games and an injury free run. Fairplay to Davies who switched to wing back yday after Sess was subbed. Had Son played a better ball to him when he burst into their area we could have scored.
Performances like that from Emerson yday will only enhance his transfer fee if Conte wants to sell him. Will be interesting what he decides at the end of the season.

Think we need two different starting wing backs next season.
Emerson is certainly for the chop.
The decision between Reg and Sess is tricky. Sess is potentially better and homegrown, but has a terrible injury record.
Sods let did not her to watch the f go game as it was mother in laws 80th.got snippets on the phone but hard to watch. Could see we were playing well. I had this as a no hope game but now gutted we did not win in the end given how well we played by the sounds of everyone on here. Got it recorded so will watch later.
… Sod’s law did not get to watch

Sessegnon was actually taking on his man when he got the ball yesterday, great to see.

And had to deal with Salah and Trent too
Come on Leeds ! Although I think Arsenal will win today but drop points against Newcastle

People keep talking up Newcastle. They'll get humped in both games IMO
I thought both were pretty solid defensively yesterday. After all that is what their first port of call is supposed to be, defending. Good confidence booster for Thursday.
I think there’s more important areas that need resolving before replacing the wing backs.
Reggie and Doherty are our first choices and they’re solid, Doherty had been especially good before his injury.
Rather we spend big money on a centre back and a striker.

Royal is a pretty good defender but no wingback. Couldn’t believe his attempted pass to Son when we were in for a second goal and he ballooned it.
I don’t rate Sessegnon and thought his general contribution going forward wasn’t great bar the pass for the goal. He doesn’t look like he really believes in himself as he’s running at people and his crosses are always speculative. But then Danny Rose’s crossing wasn’t all that.
Like you say though, both did very well defensively.
I guess it’s a tough ask to find a WB that is as good defensively as going forward. That’s what our “scouting network” is forš¤£
Need two quality wingbacks if Conte is sticking around.

I agree with this.
The attacking element of a RWB is essential, otherwise there is little point in playing a wing back and that is where he fails. Twice he could have put in decisive crosses and failed. He's not dreadful but he's just not very Brazilian !
Did very well with Diaz, Showed him inside a lot, into the crowd and his goal was lucky and typical of Liverpood efforts last night, mainly from range and a bit speculative

Exactly why he deserved special praise
Defensively he made one error with that crazy header other than that he was immaculate
Not only that he picked his timings to get forward perfectly too ….starting to see why he is preferred to Reggie ….physically he is certainly more imposing
Sessegnon has always been a player with a lot of promise and potential, injuries and lack of game time has had a devastating effect on the lad, let's hope he's over all that now
