You don't like him because he's American and you're xenophobic. Call it what it is.

Every time I've seen him speak either at RB Salzburg or even in his most recent interview about your game I've been impressed with how he comes across. He's been touted as a future Liverpool manager so the fact he's at Leeds shows what a coup he is for you guys.

Unfortunately for some utterly bizarre reason, Leeds fans aren't giving him time to try and build something. He's an exceptionally talented manager but when so many of your fanbase throw out anything he says as "David Brent-ish" he'll be gone before you know it.

I think he speaks well too.

I find his enthusiasm infectious.

Ultimately, he is still dealing with the same issues that MB was; injuries, lack of back up (this is not a who's to blame comment/argument) along with trying to implement his own style.

If he gets us over the finish line to safety, I have no problem with seeing what he can do after a full summer and transfer window.

MOT.

think you are being too kind to him LIW, personally all i see is tired old cliches mixed with American BS and little evidence of anything of use tactically and slagging off his predecessor didnt help. Ted Lasso has gone from fiction to real life and it would be at Leeds and wtf was that note passing carry on. Every time he speaks i cringe

General vibe I've picked up from the Leeds board around why so many fans show so much animosity towards him, which LDL has just reinforced.

He won't never be a Liverpool manager. Not good enough.

i dont like him because hes clueless and brings nothing to the table. the fact he mirrors a fictional character is neither here nor there regardless of nationality and was a poor choice to replace best manager we have had in 30 years.

He's an American manager, a rare breed.
Obviously there will be talk about his nationality.

dont see too many Soccer managers offering advice to players from those well respected football commentators ghandi and mother teresa. Never thought about it but can see the likeness to David Brent now thats its been mentioned and it doesnt inspire me at all. Wrong man, wrong team and wrong time

He's made the error of replacing a manager who had such regard from the fans. Bit like Moyes going to them after Fergie. Was on the back foot right from the start.

I don't see/hear a lot that freaks me out that much, seems a decent guy - certainly not his nationality, it's irrelevant to me. I'll not judge him if we stay up/go down either - way too deep into the season to truly impact things. We were in trouble then, as we are now.

Do get the feeling that there is a desire for him to fail. I find that bizarre. If he fails we have as a club.

This talk is ridiculous give him a chance he’s doing his best which is all anyone can do.Lets wait at least until after next 3games .

Not sure I expect him to be with us this time next year. As a manager I have seen nothing that makes him stand out. Nothing to do with his nationality.
Won three drawn two lost four is not a good record.

You'd be relegated by now if Bielsa had stuck around.

Don't let the fact that both liw and I called that out here takeway from your inane accusation.

Hes not proved in anyway he is "exceptionally talented"

He put together som wind against clubs we should have been beating anyway, he has made mistakes which have resulted in player injuries and we really need to discuss this idea that he comes across well...

If you don't watch him, and more to the point listen to him, every week, like we are, then I can fully understand why he might come across as good. However he speaks like the worst type of middle manager out there, everything is a cliché. He almost can't speak properly and it comes across as forced and strange.

You're totally right Donn. Whatever suspicions we have, let's put them on hold and judge him at the end of the season. Meanwhile let's get behind him and the team.

I've said 2 or 3 times around here, I have mates from a number off teams here and none of them talk highley about his time at Leipzig!..

I still think if Bielsa was still here with his players returning he would have done as much if not more than Marsh has, but having said that, I'm still hoping he keeps us up even though the games are running out as fast as they were with Bielsa!..

posted on 10/5/22

While I understand all these opinions and obviously share quite a few of them there's not much we as a Fan Base can do other than stick with it, Get behind the Team and Manager and hope we get through this

posted on 10/5/22

only people we ever see not wanting team to win is lowlife and dong and whilst im not a fan of marsch i do want him to succeed in keeping us up but after that whether he does succeed or fail i just dont see him as a good fit. We need a manager who takes us to the next level not backwards because at the moment we look like Leeds before Bielsa took over and could be heading back to mid championship obscurity

posted on 10/5/22

It’s a completely different media style to bielsa and I can see why his demeanour might rub some up the wrong way. I’m reserving judgement for now…I think a lot of fans are having rose-tinted spectacles for their ex-girlfriend and have unrealistic expectations of a successor.

Bielsa was brilliant for us, but we were in the sh*t this season on his watch and ultimately he was given complete control of anything that impacts on the playing side. The idea that any manager comes in and works miracles performance wise in a relegation battle is fanciful. A new guy can often shore up the defence and make sides more difficult to beat which I believe he has done to an extent.

Bielsa himself doesn’t join clubs mid-season or like signing players mid season because he values a pre-season to get his principles across. Yet people think a new guy can replace a great coach and turn us into brasil with a side whose confidence was totally shot.

If we stay up or go down, it’s not on marsch. Judge him 10 games into next season whatever division we’re in.

Likeable guy and I want him to do well, but can see where the OP is coming from. Will he get us out of the championship? Not so sure, but he fully deserves a full ore season and his own players recruited before he can be fairly judged.

I can’t see much wrong with him personally. Yes he’s a brash American who speaks his mind. I’m all for that. Much as I loved MB he was very hard to listen to at times.

I’ll reserve the footballing aspect until he’s had a pre season and some of his own signings. Whatever league we are in I will still be there.
