Yes Silva did get good support from the crowd, he clearly is a good player and works hard but not a natural goal scorer
With us not being in Europe next season, it's going to be diffficult to attract the type of players needed to move forward. I've said it before and will repeat it again, I think we rely too much on Mendes and the Portugal players.
Fosun need a change of plans and although bringing in younger players is good for the future (we hope), Quality signings are needed to replace those leaving this summer.
Coady has been carrying an injury for a while now and it's effected his performances of late. Boly has been poor for a while now and Kilman's injury was the turning point in our recent demise in my opinion.
I quite like Dendonker and should both Neves and Moutinho leave, he could become a decent attacking midfielder. He makes some good runs and turns up in the box a lot, plus although not being that quick, he does have a good engine.
Toti should be able to cement the left side of the defence, whether we switch to a back four or not.
Chiquinho could become a revelation if he's given the proper coaching and together with Semedo, give us options on the right. Ait-Nouri and Jonny on the left.
Our problem is up front. I'd loan out Hwang and move Jimenez on. Neto, Podence and Fabio need a couple of decent strikers and I wouldn't mind Traore coming back for another season.
I'd give Bruno another season, but I'm beginning to doubt his tactics, as it seems to have gone pear shaped recently.
So all in all it's going to be an interesting summer.
By the way it was good to see the young lad that got punched in the face on Wednesday was back at the game yesterday. Turned out it was the usual lad that sits there, not some rogue City fan and the guy that hit him is on medication for mental health issues. He's going to have a good scar there but not such a great story to go with it unfortunately.

Not yet he isn’t. Other examples of players that didn’t score in the top flight when they were teenagers are Kane, Vardy, Salah and Jimenez

Can’t see why you would say Boly is shot. Tito was good yesterday but Boly has been the best of our central defenders since returning from injury and I’d certainly keep him ahead of Saiss.
As for Fabio he was a big improvement on Jimenez and Hwang when he came on. Good movement and hold up play and came closer to scoring with a header than they looked likely to do. What’s clear now is that the Molineux crowd are right behind him which wasn’t always the case. Got a big cheer when he came on and everyone willing him to get the breakthrough goal his play deserves
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why bring Saiss into this, he's going. ?
As for Fabio, you can cheer him all you like, but until he starts rippling the net more than once a year he will not be a striker worthy of playing week on week.
Fabio needs games to be fair and a half season loan would probably be great for him but we won't do that.
I do wonder if we watch the same game sometimes with regard to Boly. He's been poor since his return and the rating that he got from the E&S is generous to say the least.
Willy Boly - 5
A dreadful first half was followed up by an improved second half, which saved Boly from a lower rating. He was caught out in behind too often.
Lets face it, Fabio may well not be the exciting "generational" talent that Jeff would have us believe he is but I do think he has the makings of a pretty good striker and a player that we should retain and continue to develop. I think we are at a tipping point with him though, whether to keep him in the squad or let him go out on loan. I know Spiers has been saying that the club dont want to let him go on loan in case he fails, which is pretty much tantamount to admitting that they got fleeced over his transfer fee (we all know that is true anyway). All that should be put aside now though and he should either go out to the Championship or a Spanish or Portuguese club where he can get regular starts and get some goal scoring rhythm in to his game.
The reason I dont think that will happen is because we clearly need a new goal hungry central striker and were Jimenez to leave then we'd be left without back up and I cant see the club buying two strikers and loaning one out this window. I also think its pretty doubtful that they will buy a striker without Raul making a move first. So if we dont get an offer for I can see us going in to next season with Jimenez first choice and Silva as back up again. The other highly likely scenario, knowing how we work is that we hang on to Raul just until its too late in the window to find a replacement and we end up with a Willian Jose type stop gap again.
I don’t think Jimenez will stay although I think he may be disappointed by the offers that come in for him. He isn’t doing himself justice and I get the impression he isn’t happy with playing for Bruno.
As for Fabio he is much closer to being ready than he was a year ago and having been patient with him I don’t think it makes sense to loan him out now. I don’t think we would find anyone better as cover centre forward for next season and I suspect he’ll be pushing to be first choice at some stage in the next year
At last, cover, that is all we can expect and speaking personally I don't think he is good enough for that and a loan would be ideal but as Oldie says they will not admit that they got it wrong big time.
By the way I really do hope that I am WAA,
we will see.
Let's put this Fabio situation into perspective.
He was bought for the future and I think we all agree that the fee was outrageous for someone who had little first team experience.
That being said, he was thrust into the first team squad due to the injury to Jimenez. From playing only 182' of first team football for Porto in 12 appearances, he had to adjust to a new country and prepare to play in the best league in the world.
I do believe he should have had more minutes with the U23's, but he does have the potential to become a good player for us. But he has to be given time. He's been our best forward be far recently and I was shocked when he was subbed during the Brighton fiasco.
I'm sure the weight of that transfer fee has been a shackle around his young neck. No need to loan him out in my view.
I have seen enough of Silva to conclude he is not a natural goal scorer, lacks a killer instinct, but to be fair I have little qualification to comment , and I may prove to be completely wrong

No I agree there's times he's got the ball less than 12 yards out and instead of pulling the trigger he's tried to lay it off
The point is that Fabio needs to play every week to improve and as such there is no way he can be picked for the first team on a regular basis.
A loan would give him the chance to mature and see if he really has potential to be a proper striker. I would give him a full season loan in the championship or abroad, then we can re-evaluate.

You have the same right as everyone else.
Reading a few reports that Bruno wanted to change to a back 4, but the payers wanted to keep 3 at the back. Confirms comments a few days ago about possible problems in the dressing room.
Something has to give before next season.
Well he's the gaffer so the board have to back him... The players will either have to leave or adapt
I agree tino that the board have to back Bruno with significant investment this summer. Although given the number of players leaving there is a question of whether that investment will improve us or just keep us at the level we have been at with the likes of Neves, Moutinho, Coady, Jimenez at the club. Just replacing them at their best would require a small fortune
The alternative is not to back Bruno and get someone else in to take the club forward. And I wouldn’t rule that out. The club need to make a decision on that as soon as this season is over
yeah Bruno needs to be backed or sacked, as at the merment he's on a hiding to nothing
if Flipflopinthesunshinestate is correct about this perceived pplayer power (it's hard to tell as he never provides any links) then whomever comes in to replace Bruno will be in the same boat
I don't think it matters who the manager is if we don't invest this summer.
This group of players have gone the same way two seasons in a row under different managers.
These reports keep popping up on my cell phone. The latest is from Daniel Crabb who states we are in a three way battle to sign Palhinha and talk of Dendonker going to Lazio.
Liam Keen is reporting that we are trying to extend Moutnho's contract.
Tin Spiers is stating that there's no guarantee that Neves will leave.
A little browse of the internet Bombolino and you can find all kind of rumours. Where do you think DJ get's all his info from? Try asking him the same question.
Part of Dave Edwards' comments from the E&S:-
"I don’t think we put enough balls into the box, and then when we do we don’t have people in there to score either. It’s a real dilemma. Wolves want to be a possession-based team but still the best way to score is getting to that byline and crossing. Our connection is not there and the squad needs improvements."
This re-iterates what our commentators over here stated during the match, in that Bruno doesn't want crosses pumped into the box. I'm sure if Jimenez stays in and around the box instead of wandering all over the pitch, he may well have scored a few more goals, with the help of crosses of course.
