I miss 606 sadly toffee lady is right, its a boreathon. If Keef can't be bothered to spout inane babble there is trouble ahoy sad days.
I think a lot of ppl got pizzed off with all the anti board carp. People just want to talk football not politics.
But that is of course my own opinion.
In a rare relevant comment....
It really looks like we do have a strategy.. Buy big but very young, 2 mill possibly for a 15 year old..massive. Our scouting network is clearly one of the best (and I'm sure well funded) and this ethos is one I am very proud of, it is literally the polar opposite of city, happier days

Getting the best young players around to sign for Everton must be a sign of something going well. Not so long ago these boys would be heading for United, Spurs and Arsenal.
Big thumbs up to the scouts and coaching setup for the hard work in turning us around in this area.
What made me chuckle, is the fact he played in a trial game for Spurs v Villa last week and bagged a first half hat trick for them. They were keen on him.
We've done an 'Arry on them.
Nice change to attract players rather than loose them to other clubs

LOL
The most pleasing thing for me is that young lads can now see that Everton is the place to be if you want a chance at the top.
I work in Bradford and a lot of people here feel like Everton have done a number on them. I hope he can be as good as people think.
This news has cheered me up. I'm currently in the midst of a major depression due to Miranda Hart standing in for Chris Evans. She's in my top 10 most hated celebrities.

Even worse than Richard Madley, who is the other random guy she chats away with during the show?
Great to see that Everton is a top address for young talented players. as we don't appear to have a financial pot to pi$$ in, we'll just have to hope that each year one or two of these lads step up to the mark and come into the PL. jose baxter was one touted for the top, now out on loan at trfc, will he make it? hope so, but have to have a few doubts now. barkley, duffy, veillios, coleman, gueye and a few more besides-patience and a lot of hard work with the kids will pay off in the long run. can't find a rooney every year.

I still think he has the technical ability to make it. He is still young and has to learn its a more physical game in the first team.
Just look at Ossie, a player of similar ability and physical stature, he is a top player now for us.
As you say, not everyone should be held up to a comparison with Rooney
Aye Rooney is a rare talent, and was physically very mature at an early age.
These lads need time.
Yeah, got to agree - this site is becoming more like a support group than a chat forum. Too few opinions and most of the threads turn in to cr@p chat instead of our real interest - what's going on at Everton...
Still, going to check in a few more times before I decide to knock it on the head. eally happy to see that we've got Green on board for next summer. It shows that the club are still looking forward despite everything else. He sounds like a great prospect.

The last two threads I have posted have been about Everton. Derby trouble and youth signings.
does seem like a good signing. My worry is City on future. They are building a huge new academy. This will tap into our catchment area. In future they will be buying players up like this for fun leaving us and most clubs behind.
But will players want to go if they see limited 1st team chances at clubs like City. Hardly a developing culture at Eastlands
If you were a talented youngster wanting to play football would you go to City? They'd be the last club I'd look at

I will put money on it that more players have come through our academy than yours!
Our new academy plans prove our owners promises to nurture new talent and improve on our excellent current academy, anyone who says otherwise is talking sheyite!
Which players and to what level then?
Please let us all know
Hmm, go on then Loz...give us the list.
I appreciate what City are doing with an academy...and you obviously will develop some good players. However I feel that many of your 16/17 year olds will look around them and just think they don't have a hope in hell of getting a game. Look at the likes of Milner and Johnson. Both good players whose careers are now stalling. That's not a swipe at City, because they have simply bought better players. Fair play to them.
Lets look at three.that are playing first team football.
Richards, Johnson, Hart.
All three came.from other clubs
In the prem, sturridge boyata ireland swp barton, abroad guddeti weis, all products of our academy, although non now play in the city first team they still are academy products, at the moment we have several excellent prospects my favourite Is Harry bunn son of frankie bunn who used to play for Oldham!
At the moment our first team squad is too good for any academy player to break into it on a regular basis, but that is because our transfer policy as it stands at this moment was to buy class players to break the top four and have a crack at the prem!
Thing is with ffp coming in and our new academy on the way the best youngsters around will have a real chance and the worlds best facilities to improve not only there football but academic prospects!
Truth is even if Everton do produce a class player every now and then a big club will snatch them off you!
Oh and spurs are looking to snatch young mr green off you
