It will still be a big step for them tbf. You can only boast about points tallies for so long. The most points Ferguson ever got at United was 91 & nobody cared, unless it's the record (like City's 100pts, or our 95pts before that) it doesn't matter a lick. It's like when Spurs bragged about being the best team between 2015-17 to somehow try to undermine our title win in 16/17

They needed at the very least to complete the trophy set in this era and now they have

Also, Chelsea were doped and funded by Roman whereas Liverpool rely on their own revenue. Chelsea and City aren't judged to the same standards as any other team.

The CWC is pretty much a bye through to the final where the European team is heavy favourite. Much harder to win the domestic cups.

Not really. In the Club World Cup you have to beat the clubs that have won the equivalent of the Champions League in their own continent. The best of the best club sides outside of Europe.

In the League Cup you're likely playing some easy lower league match up until the quarterfinals.

Has the European team ever not made the final? Without looking it up, I doubt it.

Plus the quarter-finals onwards in the League Cup, that's still four tough games.

It's very highly prized in South America Superb, mainly because they want to show that they're not just the bridesmaids to Europe in world football.

It's a nice to say you've won it kind of trophy but I'd rather us have played the kids in it and rested the 1st team squad for the bread and butter of our own league!

I never said we lived in Spain. I said that most other big clubs including Real and Barca consider it an important trophy to win.

Personally I'm not bothered that it's not considered an important trophy in England because we're clearly in a tiny minority in the world with that opinion and it's very much a global game now.

Whichever way you frame it the domestic cups carry more value in England.
