I like the team but did expect to see Matip. Maybe it's the pace vs Vinicius as cover for Trent?

Nerves setting in now. I feel confident in the team but the way we keep conceding the first goal has to be a concern, as does the fact we look fairly tired in general.

Score first though and we are capable of taking the game away from them. We rarely, if ever, do it easy.

Yeah, rumoured team news on twitter suggests Konate and Thiago both starting...

Thiago starting is huge. Very rarely in a game involving Madrid is the best midfielder not playing for them.

I’ve gone on the same confident to less confident journey….

Looking a bit tired, fa cup final, fighting for the league, few injuries to key players which will have hampered build up. That versus Madrid who had the league done and dusted ages ago.

Matip has made seven starts?

Either way I think Matip has probably been our best cb this season and his ability to bring the ball into midfield would help create overloads against not the quickest midfield.

Konate could murder them at set pieces though. It's a nice choice though and happy enough with it.

The season before he signed he registered as being in the top three fastest centre backs in Europes top five leagues or something with VVD being one of the others.

He is an absolute beast.

I would have preferred jota over Diaz funnily enough. Jota seems to always score out of nothing. But let's see
