Why isn’t there even a proper regulation of gun control? I mean, this isn’t even asking people to give up their guns. Why is it so easy to get hold of one ?

The honest truth, all BS aside?
Fear.
There’s a growing fear in many political groups - yes there are many here - that any form of gun control would be a slippery slope to eventually banning all guns.
Do I think it would ever happen? No. Not in my lifetime.
A gun ban would only happen if the Second Amendment was removed. And with the country split down the middle, that won’t happen.
So the only thing that can happen now is a comprehensive background check. But even with that, a lot of people disagree because it still won’t stop shooters.

Then it seems the country is a bit of an impasse and repeated atrocities is the price you will have to pay to preserve the second amendment.
