"Imagine a top club parading an FA Cup and Carabao cup "
Wouldn't happen
Since SAF retired, we've won each of those trophies once and one EL. That's it in terms of major trophies. So if we won both of those in one season, we'd probably have a right to celebrate!
With Liverpool, it's one of those things. You have to notify in advance and obviously couldn't have it til after the CL final. It gives the fans a chance to thank the players and gives the players a chance to let their hair down a bit. Looking at Andy Robertson for example, I think today was something he enjoyed and a good thing for him as a way to cut loose a bit
Arsenal have definitely just paraded an FA cup before
Don’t Arsenal fans bang on about how many FA Cups they’ve won? Why would a club not celebrate winning trophies, especially after covid?

"Elite" club Spurs paraded mighty League cup in this millennium 🤣
Liverpool aren't a top club lol.
Never have been, never will be. Don't let the media or the LFC fans fool you into thinking otherwise.
That ball club will always be on the outside, looking in.

Cast your mind back 42 years Maf, did West Ham parade the FA cup?
Totally not bothered by this. It is up to them.
Back in the day when it meant more who ever won the FA Cup used to have a parade with it for their fans.
Fans looked like they had a great time, gave the players a real lift after disappointment last night too. Any excuse for a piiss up works for me.

Sure but all you actually had to show on the parade was 1 FA cup
If they want to celebrate it they are more than entitled to. They’ve had a great season even if it’s had a disappointing end.

If Liverpool aren’t then Real Madrid are the only top club going by that criteria.
Liquid talking liquid 5hit again
Because Man United have never paraded an FA cup through the streets of Manchester in front of a million fans before have they.
I just find the suggestion that they shouldn't have a parade weird. Even if you ignore the fact that they got to a CL final and came second in the league, winning those two trophies in one season doesn't happen often.
In the time I've followed football, Arsenal did it in 93, Liverpool in 01, City won all three domestic trophies a few years back and Liverpool did it this season. That's 4 times in 29 years. I may have forgotten one but it's still not s regular occurrence, is it? I'm happy enough to knock Liverpool as a United fan, but only when it's justified.
Or even paraded nothing through the streets of Manchester in front of a million fans after losing an FA Cup final
When i was a kid all day was all about the FA cup final.
We watched it from breakfast till bed time.
It was always a 3pm kick off but now, sadly the fans are the last consideration!
I think we had a parade in 2014 for winning the FA Cup (ending our 8-year trophy drought) and 2015 when we retained it, but didn't have one in 2017 (presumably because that was the 1st time we finished outside the top-4 under Wenger) and we didn't have one in 2020 either (pandemic, but also, we finished 8th, so a parade would be embarrassing).
That said, if we won both domestic cups again, I'd have no issue with us having a parade regardless of league position. And like someone else said, Liverpool had to book it in well advance so clearly didn't know whether they were going to be PL/CL winners at that point.
