It's ludicrous isn't it? Not even like he's a senior player either, he's 23!

I'd like to know what their fans think about this because I've not heard from them. If it was me and it was Kane having all this power I'd be horrified, and want him and the owners out of the club immediately.

posted on 2/6/22

Does he really have this power? So we have a new term. PLAYER/OWNER. Something usually reserved for non-league clubs.

He's been sifting through the contracts and found the clause in Neymar's that gives him time off to pump his sister every year.

posted on 2/6/22

He's effectively a player chairman ffs. He's overrated too, all good being a flat track bully, but he needs to do it in a better league if he wants to be a great.

posted on 2/6/22

Would anyone be surprised if he appointed himself manager?

It's as irresponsible as letting a child be responsible for the household finances. One thing's for sure they'll never win the Champions League while this nonsense continues.

From what little I know, which is what I read on other forums, the majority of their fans seem to toe whatever the official club line is. Probably almost a natural consequence of everyone criticising you at every turn.

Just another spoilt footballer, only been around 5 minutes yet demanding control of which players can stay at the club😵‍💫

Can you imagine any of the managers from seasons past taking load of rubbish🤬

Blll Nicholson, Bobby Robson, Bill Shankly, Don Revie, Alf Ramsey, Bob Paisley, Brian Clough etc are probably turning in their graves.
All these plus managers like Ferguson, Mee, Graham, Venables, Dalglish and company would not have taken any nonsense from players.

Unfortunately, money is king and getting a £130 signing on fee plus a nett salary of £650k per week obviously pushes him to untouchable status.
PSG is horrible club and they deserve nothing going forward. I hope that Poch tells Mbappe to wind his neck in and keep his mouth shut.
Not sure he will stand for player interference either going forward.

posted on 2/6/22

I very much doubt he has anymore input than any senior / high profile / captain might.

It isn't in the least surprising in view of how the kids are brought up in the Qatari royal household.

Funny people flaming mbappe for this when it was PSG that offered it. Mbappe never asked for these terms, as even the best agent in football would know it'd be stupid to even ask.
PSG were desperate to the point of offering him 100 M euros as a signing fee and a mill a week, plus 100% image rights and input in decisions.

People should be asking how PSG can make such a silly offer, not why a kid accepted an offer that would be impossible for any of us to refuse, if we were in his shoes.

Neymar is probably the most overrated player of all time too so fair play there lol

This is such a bad take.

Neymar is actually one of the most underrated players ever. People constantly criticise him and highlight his few flaws, rather than focus on his countless positives. He’s gonna break Pele’s all-time Brazil scoring record for goodness sake.

If you want most overrated of all-time, look at Zidane or Iniesta. Guys who barely posted 5+ goals & 5+ assists per season.

The points you make are all valid. But it is still a circus.

I have to disagree. £222m fee and then £££ a week and then bonuses etc for what?

He is not fit to lace boots of Ronaldo or Messi in my opinion. Show pony.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah he’s not as good as Messi or Ronaldo, but in terms of ability he’s the 3rd best player of the 2010s imo.

There were stretches in 2015 & 2016 when he outperformed Messi for long periods when they played on the same team.

I have a feeling Brazil will win the World Cup this winter and Neymar will finally silence his critics.

He’s one of those players you’d love to put a knee high, two footed, studs up, Sunday league take down on.

Smug, over rated show pony, cries every time he gets tackled

And he looks like a tranny

The thing with Zidane though was that he did it in the big games, the guy scored winning goals in a World Cup final and Champions league final.

Iniesta, ditto.

When the pressure was on, these guys made the difference in a way Neymar never has

It's a madness if even half of it is true....what manager is gonna go there, knowing once you pee him off he'll ask to get shot of you.

Brazil has produced some of the World's greatest players.

Neymar isn't one of them.

You've literally made my point re Zidane & Iniesta being overrated, and Neymar being underrated.

Those two rarely made the difference in big games but you think they did often, based on a few moments and a narrative.

Zidane's goals in that 98 Final were the only ones he scored in the entire tournament. He was actually very poor in that tournament until the Final.

Yeah he scored in CL Final, but so did Neymar - in fact Neymar is the only player to ever score in both QF legs, both SF legs and the Final in a single CL season (2014/15). The fact that people overlook this and gas up Zidane's 1 (one) CL Final goal is exactly what I'm referring to.

Yeah Iniesta scored in the 2010 WC Final, but that was the only tournament he ever scored in. He played 8 tournaments and failed to score in 7 of them. He only scored 2 tournament goals in his entire career (both in 2010).

Iniesta's Spain record is 13 goals in 131 games , and people think Neymar is overrated when he's about to break Pele's record

I agree about Neymar being overrated. Maybe not so much these days but when he burst on the scene he was hyped up as if the next Messi. Hasn't achieved half of what Messi has and has been outshone by better players at his clubs since moving to Europe.

posted on 2/6/22

Inesta was one of the world`s greatest players at his peak. He was not in the team to score goals, or even assist. Dembele was similar for Spurs rarely scored or rarely assisted, but was such a great player to have in your side in the general context of any match he played in.
