Djed Spence

Bissouma was released on bail also. He's probably going to be alright isn't he. Lack of evidence/expensive lawyers/paying people off usually does for these cases. I still think it should be a concern, though. You don't put yourself in that situation.

I'd add a striker to your list Ace. You havent even spent all of Uncle Joe's 150m...cannot look a gift horse in the mouth. Spend another 65m on a striker, sell a few and we're still probably only 100m net.

As for Spence i am with you... Looks a really good prospect, attacking, direct, has a goal in him. Seen him come inside quite a bit and get into the box, bit like Conte had Doherty & Emerson doing after a while .

I heard he had a bit of an attitude but he's young and would surely not have the bollox to give Conte any attitude.

for me the core of the team stays the same.

New LCB.
Competition at RWB & LWB
Competition in CM x 2
And a better striking option than Lucas & Bergwijn, genuine competition.

I would feel comfortable if we started the season with only 1 place filled with a new player, but with much much better options on the bench - Perisic, Spence, Eriksen, Bissouma, NEW Striker on the bench alongside Lucas, Sanchez, Davies, Forster. That is a strong outfit and as they settle it becomes interchangeable based on the core from 21/22

Due to so many players either being available on a free, or entering the last year of their contracts, I think it is more than feasable to bring numbers in, who have quaility this summer.

In Jose's first summer window we brought in 7 players. Bale and Vini on loan, Hart has since left. Rodon, PEH, Doherty and Reg.

That was with Hitchen. We now have Paratici who is levels above him, plus the draw of Conte and CL football.

8 or 9 signings this summer can be done with the budget. With one or two more bosmans, mainly Eriksen, I think we can have a squad capable of competing on all fronts.

Remember Conte wants to challenge for titles. He wants to win. He is a chequebook manager and will have at least £200m before a player is sold, from profits and the ENIC cash.

8 or 9 is too many and unlikely.

I'd say 7 inc.a keeper and subject to some outs, 5 or 6 outs.

I would not get too carried away with the £150m investment, they have not said that all of that is to be put into player transfers, part of it will be used elsewhere without doubt.

I will be amazed if we have a transfer net spend of £150m or more, Levy is very clever and knows how to play the fans like a fiddle, it keeps season tickets being renewed etc. Just look at what the news of a £150m investment has done to a large section of our fanbase, they are giddy and now expecting major spending.

We`ll see what our squad looks like at the end of the window.

That would represent some serious spending if we also get rid of Winks (20m) Rodon (15m) GLC (20m) Bergwijn (25m) Emerson (15m)

Isiah Jones would be a better option, he kept Spence out of the boro team had a good game when they beat Spurs
would also like to see us sign Gibbs-White from Sheff utd

If we pay for Romero then it will be more. I doubt we will pay £40m in one lump sum and the payments will be spread over the course of his contract.

you think signing 8 or 9 is realistic and if it happens theyll all be good and propel us? dont think so

we'll be fine with 7 ins if most are the right players to finish 3rd and be good enough to compete on all fronts, other teams would have done so with a lot less

The window officially opens on Friday, but most international deals won`t go through until 1st July onwards.

You would like to think deals for Conte`s first choice targets are being worked on already, but this is ENIC and Levy, I will stick my neck out and say most of our business will still be done in the last week of the window, as per usual.

Seriously?

so if we had the following squad:

Lloris / FORSTER

Doherty/ SPENCE

Sessegnon/ Reguillon/ PERISIC

Romero / BASTONI / Dier / Davies / Sanchez / Tanganga

Hojbjerg / Skipp / Bentancur / ERIKSEN/ BISSOUMA / Sarr

Son / MARTINEZ / Kane / Kulu / Lucas / Gil

OUT:
Winks, GLC, NDombele, Rodon, Emerson, Bergwijn

You do not think we could improve from 4th and challange a trophy?

not sure Sarr, Gil, Reguilon or Tanganga will be about either which is why people think we could get like 9 players in but im not sure

who knows maybe we will, but rarely works for the best doing that

We have all heard the way Paratici works, he lines up a lot of options, speaks to a lot of players/agents, gets things rolling a little bit.

We will clearly have our preferred choices sounded out, like Bastoni. But if he will not join us then i suspect we will have our options 2 and 3 also primed. It's just a case of how long do you leave it to give up on player A and go with player B or C.

For some of the key positions i would expect us to get players in pre pre-season. All our signings by pre- season would be ideal but unlikley.

The way we ended the season was strong. Our fully fit current XI is well capable of starting the season, so my preference would be to get the right player in, timing is less important. That said, a new LCB must be our focus and we really should move on that before pre-season starts if we can.

Tanganga is HG. He will not leave.

Sarr and Gil are always likely to be fringe - League cup & bench players and I think they will be looked at pre-season before a choice is made.

Both Sarr and Gil need loans to english teams but not sure the interest is there. Shame, but dont think Gil is rated by Conte so might even be sold.

Tanganga wont get many chances and is always injured. looked poor before his injury last season. Signing a LCB who can also play in the middle covers us.

Doherty can be 3rd choice LWB, Perisic if need be can play RWB.

Then the forward we sign should be able to play through the middle or off the left.
