Of feck, about the only change that might actually make our back 3 worse. Don’t mind McT as a DM, albeit he’s quite a limited footballer, but he’s NEVER a CB.

Without Tierney and Gilmour, tierney with his pace, movement quality of cross, interlink play and overall football brain, Gilmour just that he gives you something different in midfield, creative, more direct, organised, etc we are awful, Paterson and Robertson give us something as well, but without two we are all over the place like headless chickens, and absolutely no pace whatsoever.

One can hope.

Best midfield we've had in years and completely wasted on Clarke. Only three of them on the pitch against five and with Adams up front who offers nothing on his own (essentially by himself given Christie is up to his usual anonymous self).

And three centre backs against this Ireland.. just why? It's meant we've been stuck deep in our own half and none of them were switched on to the chip or run for their second.

Thought that was in.

It's a formation brought in to accommodate Tierney and Robertson. Fair enough. But why play it without one of them?
