Please tell me another reason why the SPFL would have to renegotiate this deal to give Cinch more for the same price...and exclude Rangers?

Perhaps because the disagreement has not yet been resolved formally and the SPFL were at risk of losing the deal completely prior to the new season?

You might well be correct but I’d imagine that if rangers had ‘won’ the disagreement (and excuse if I don’t know what court or body that is sitting with) we’d have heard about it, no?

Either way....SPFL have capitulated

Really doesn't matter if it was taking too long to resolve....the fundamental point here is, Rangers and Parks were only able to take things this far, by using the SPFLs own rules against them

If the SPFL knew their own rules.....and also if they had actually included Parks in all this in the first place as an interested party, which they clearly were...perhaps it would not have dragged on this long either

They are useless

Bless anyone who doesn't think this is purely about douglas park

It’s good news for us regardless, can get our own sponsor for the ad space

Is there anyone else left that Rangers want to fall out with?

posted on 15/6/22

To be fair Cinch got far more marketing and brand awareness out of Rangers being petty than if it they had just left it and ignored it

Congratulations to Donald Park on whinning (sic) again for Rangers. However commercial statements can surely be interpreted in various ways?
Rangers have been excused from the sponsorship deal and therefore don’t get a cut of the £27M?
Rangers cut of the £27M is distributed across the rest of the clubs?
Cinch branding may need to be more prominent with participating clubs (2.6%)
By brand association the participating clubs will be linked with major global sporting events sponsored by Cinch?
Rangers will be the sole benefactors of Parks of Hamilton’s aggressive global brand management strategy?

Exciting times.

‘Either way....SPFL have capitulated’

Fvcking hell. Don’t go overboard or anything.

Rangers ban Cinch because of an alleged conflict of interest and don’t want to advertise their brand.

Cinch brand awareness goes through the roof. No one mentions Parks of Hamilton, and the SPFL retain the sponsorship deal. That’s probably the definition of a pyrrhic victory.

Rangers made the whole thing up.

There is no contract with Parks apart from the one resulting from young park talking to himself.

No evidence of any financial transaction between parks and Rangers.

It's a facking joke.

It’s just the club sticking by one of their own who has helped bail them out.

Sounds like Rangers won

Sounds like Cinc won. They could never have dreamt of such advertising and Rangers made it possible

Maybe others will follow suit and not advertise them too. Wonder what happens then eh?

Don’t think any other clubs warned the SPFL that there was a conflict of interest with an existing sponsor, prior to this deal being signed…

We were simply following the SPFL rulebook that says we’re exempt. So if any other clubs don’t advertise then they’ll rightly be punished

posted on 15/6/22

There’s no conflict of interest for goodness sakes

Not one scrap of evidence to this “contract”. Utter nonsense.

posted on 15/6/22

And “punished”?

With what exactly? Giving Cinch more market awareness? Sounds like a plan they’d like

posted on 15/6/22

You been starting the weekend early or something, how could annoying think the league could punish a sponsor?

Any other clubs that didn’t advertise would obv be punished by withholding the pittance of a sponsorship fee their due from cinch.

Lucky for us we can likely get a better sponsorship deal for that space and double our money

posted on 15/6/22

Well first of all I have no idea what your opening sentence means. Can only put it down to a typo.

Other clubs can’t be punished as you suggest as they like Rangers only have to threaten a stance with zero evidence. Which they won’t as the deal had to be agreed by all the other clubs to allow Rangers to benefit. Makes no sense for then not to carry on now.

And if you could sell the space at double the price now, why couldn’t you when you were champions?

All a storm in a teacup I’m sure but if Rangers need small “victories” like this then by all means enjoy them.

Anyway, another reason for a giggle at their expense. I’ll leave it there.

Doncaster was clever to be fair, he lucky to still be in a job, so just decides to take on Rangers even though he was never going to win, just so everyone Celtic supports him. Then even when he loses his case against us, he still wins with Celtic fans, played like puppets

Tell me to faack off by all means, but what does “get it roon ye” mean please?

posted on 15/6/22

Honestly bizarre that people think the spfl have been anything other than a shambles here.

Regardless of if you think rangers conflict was valid or not the fact rangers raised one and it was ignored is basically just more incompetence from the spfl. I'm sure rangers were probably just looking for some concession to allow parks branding alongside. Instead it's turned into this embarrassment for Doncaster.

Rangers get the money but don't have to display the sponsor. Probably more than they wanted in first place.

Cinch have had much more publicity than they could have imagined.

Only loser is the spfl where they signed a paltry deal and then had to go back to the sponsor with tail between legs
