Get Cucurella and I think it will have been a fantastic window.

All bases then covered, decent money back for Jesus and Sterling if he moves on.

With all these young players rumoured to be moving as well, it should mean a net spend of zero again.

Yeah its a very good window if we can finish off with getting Cucurella through the door, 45m for gabs and say 30m for Sterling, nice bit of business.

Think Sterling will stay, not fussed either way.

Where is sterling rumoured to be off to?

30 million seems cheap…is he out of contract end of next season?

Don’t get the Phillips signing to be honest ….not good enough for City

He is a great hunter of the ball but that’s it ….city tend to have more of the ball against everyone and he is very limited …just find it an odd signing

Yeah out of contract next year. Even at 30 million I hope chelsea don’t sign him

posted on 25/6/22

If Sterling joins us it will cost a lot more then £30m. I’m thinking £45m.

Yeah I’m hoping Tottenham stay away….not that he would join us anyway due to wages

Another player that looks great in a great side but put him in a team where he will be the main man and relied upon I think he will be found wanting

Kinda carried Rogers Liverpool side, with one or two others, in a team that wasn't that great. I think he'd actually relish being a regular in the team nowadays tbh.

Finishing can be a bit meh but he is direct and creates a lot, whilst still scoring a few.

Honestly feel like you're mugging us off a bit for Jesus. Nearly £50m for a player with 1 year left on his contract and who has never hit more than 14 league goals? That is an excellent deal for you.

He massively underperforms xG and isn't particularly clinical in front of goal.

Not convinced by him at all, but I hope he proves me wrong.

You'd be asking £60m if the deal was going the other way.

Pep played him out wide for most of the season, when he did play him in the middle, he scored 4 goals in a game.

I'm just not convinced he's the man to lead our line really.

No offense but even with the wage issue I doubt Sterling would join Spurs.

He definitely relies on a midfield that will feed him with chances but I agree with the liverpool poster that Sterling as a younger player had an all round game that included pressing and tracking back.

He simply doesnt do it anymore and if he joins chelsea he only shines if the club is built around him.

His movement is probably the best in the league and a player like Harvetz would benefit immensely with Sterling in the side

I'd be happy with Sterling going to you for 50m, his stats are good and we'll keep Jesus

Lets not make a mistake, he is not world class and despite his age and potential his football intelligence is what lets him down a bit. Thats why Foden played as a false 9 and he didnt.

He started the season decently then had spells where he couldnt trap the ball would simply pass it to the opposition or run down blind alleys.

But when he hits form like he did at the end of last season he is a very goo player.

Don't think he quite has the wits to play as a permanent central attacker but as part of a front 3 his all round game is perfect.

As a player he is the full package and with heart, great attitude.

Let's hope what you lot say about him manifests at Arsenal. Frankly, he can't be any worse than Lacazette (period) or Aubameyang's final 18 months with us, where he was dreadful.

If he can help us get back into the CL with his contributions, I certainly won't complain.

Hw made his debut in 2012. Coutinho joined in 2013. He made his debut in a loss to Wigan that had spearing and Flanagan in the team. I did say he carried them, with the help of a few others, but he was a kid that worked hard and made goals.

Sterling will always miss chances but he will still create and score plenty too. I think he's better off as a big fish in a small pond tbh. Seems to bring the best out of him having his manager back him.and give him games.

He only played like 3 times his debut season. The next season he played it was with coutinho Suarez Sturridge Gerrard and others. He scored 16 goals in about 70 appearances. Was good for Liverpool of course but context is needed

Also when has he been a big fish in a small pond?not trying to pick holes in what you say but has he ever been that?

Definitely context needed considering he was twenty when he left Liverpool. He was already a hard worker, great link up play and tactically excellent. It's true in his last season he carried Liverpool as Suarez left, Sturridge was injured and Balotelli brought in against the managers wishes and he was absolutely awful. Sterling therefore had to play upfront and I believe he was our top goalscorer in the end, at 19/20.

I'd take him back at Liverpool, provided he would get back to working hard. He seems to have lost some enthusiasm this past year or so.

I'd say at Liverpool he was definitely that. At city he has star players everywhere. In mf and attack few are guaranteed starters. Maybe silva or debruyne.

I get your point buy I think the gulf in squad competition between the Liverpool teams he was in and city's is pretty big.

Strikes me as a confidence player that benefits from games to find his best form. I'm sure we both agree a sterling on form for 50-60m is a crazy bargain, in today's market.

posted on 25/6/22

I wouldn’t say Liverpool are a small pond in any shape or form no matter who they have in the side.

He scored 11 goals in 50 games. He was an impressive youngster, but that’s not carrying a side and they still has Gerrard and coutinho.

This we would not mate. Although statically not as great I found sterling a better player at least on the ball when he was at Liverpool. I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole and have for years said I’d take him last out of city’s attacking players. Aguero, sane, mahrez, silva, kdb, foden over the years I’d take all infront of him. Even Jesus

Sterling going to Chelsea would be odd after that time he was racially abused at the Bridge.

I just think sterling in form, at 50-60m in today's prices, I'd a bargain. City are miles above Chelsea, spurs and arsenal and I think, with games, he'd be a valuable asset.

He'd make a big difference if utilised properly at them teams. He is capable of really hurting teams and that's a valuable thing to have, and usually expensive. Sterling for less than Pepe is a steal imo all the players u named I prefer but they would be way more than the prices quoted for raheem.

Havent seen any of this on the Official City website, the only trustworthy site when it comes to City transfer business. Everything else is just speculation.
Would City sign a proven Prem striker with a strike rate of one goal every 2 and a bit games or .38 of a goal every 90 minutes ( who works that out ).
If the answer is yes then why would the sell him and especially to a potential rival
