Purple aki is signing at CB. United trying to tie the deal up in secret so others don't 'muscle' in.
Better taking the time to get the right players in that the manager wants rather than just quickly jumping in and signing someone that is in the ball park of what we need.
De Jong isn't looking he wants to leave Barca quitely.
So, maybe we go into the first game with what we’ve got already. Good enough to beat Brighton?
Yeh, I think so.
The issue will be the game against Liverpool.
And we will we have enough to take them on.
We want new signings no doubt. But we want them to hit the ground running, so there’s still that variable.
How many games will it take for them to settle.
The players should be fit enough at the start of the season, but I don’t think it’s a simple case of plonking in new players and expecting it to work right away.
Dream scenario yeh, but looks like we gonna have to bleed them in.
We will get the signings. Whoever it may be. But the critical stuff starts this week in training. Can Ten Hag get a culture going. A disciplined way of playing.
Players buying in his philosophy.
Then that’s half the battle won.

There’s no strategy at United and anyone who believes this club has any competence is delusional
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Much as I enjoy seeing united in a bad state (who won everything when I was growing up) as an outsider looking in, I'm amazed fans haven't boycotted games in their droves.
Glazers have quietly took their dividends whilst just throwing cash at managers. It's almost like a diversion tactic cos of how reckless some of the spending has been. They clearly give 0 fs about 'soccer' and united revenues are starting to drop.
My point is, does it have to get to the point where they are still drawing their money out their United atm and revenue has dropped of to the point their spending is limited before 5hit kick's off?
United had, and still do compared to their recent success, silly revenue numbers. Fact is they have still dropped off massively and are slipping. I think cos they are still deceptively large it kinda acts as a smoke screen for too many united fans. They are slowly bleeding the club dry of $ and entertainment.
At what point is enough enough? Surely boycotting and hurting their pockets is the only viable way to get em out? I think the fact it's just a business to them means it's the only way to get them to sell.

What we have atm is weaker than what we had when we lost 4 nil to them a couple of months back. They may be good enough to win, but they are also easily bad enough to get stuffed again. If we go into the season with that lot and no fresh faces, well, we know what to expect. A new coach won't bring about a new culture without reinforcements.
As for players needing time to bed in, come on, that's not a reason not to sign players. If anything it's a cast iron reason to get them in in time for preseason. Otherwise, there's literally no point in ever signing players
All I see is a similar situation to the time David Moyes came to United. If ETH was to do careful planning/recruiting in bringing the player he needs, the task should have been completed weeks ago.

If that was their objective they could have done this any time in the last ten years.
But let’s not let facts and common sense get in the way of your idiotic rants, Nohlman.
Probably true OP - until there is a genuine and demonstrable change in recruitment / performance on the pitch, I’d still class the people who are in charge as inept.
Hard to see a quick way back for us to the top now - rivals too far ahead / more organised, and as others have alluded to - Glazers bleeding the club of resources slowly combined with poor decisions / performance really will screw us long long term now I’d imagine.
We could well be on the way to being the new Arsenal. Jesus.
‘As for players needing time to bed in, come on, that's not a reason not to sign players. If anything it's a cast iron reason to get them in in time for preseason. Otherwise, there's literally no point in ever signing players’
Merry, totally agree, of course I want the players in early, I’m just trying to work out a way, where I’m not writing off the season week one.
I’m fuming. We’re not hearing anything from UTD.
The optics look bad, and we all know how UTD love their optics.
But it’s looking like we won’t get all our business done before the season starts.
So gotta see how we can work around that, if worst case scenario.
On paper, we still have decent names, and if they have anything about them, they need to come out the blocks firing, to restore pride.

As much as I'm being negative, it's more the spoiled child in me. Players are on holidays etc so there's no need to panic yet. Seeing several sources saying that both De Jong and Eriksen looking likely this week now. If that were to happen, we'd be looking in better shape.
On a side note, I haven't seen us being linked with right backs, which is surprising. I wonder if we'll see Laird get a lot of game time in preseason? I'm hoping so, as surely if he can put his injury problems behind him, he may well be in contention to come into the squad.
Training starts on Monday for those that weren’t involved with the internationals, another week (or 2?) for the rest.
One thing about the fact ETH seemingly wants players he’s worked with before is that they’ll at least know what he expects of them from the get go.
Think we’ll make a couple of signings next week.
Don’t fall for the gaslighting on social media and YouTubers. Especially rival fans. And maybe just maybe, lessons have been learnt from the Woodward error.
This guy alone has set us back. Utd need to able to dictate. So that may mean we miss out on big names.
But a culture reset is needed across the board.
We can’t be paying over the odds again just cos we are UTD. While other teams get good deals.
