Mengi, Garner, Hannibal, Garnacho, Martial.

The way the club are operating in this window is amateurish, maybe no surprise because new people are in new roles. That’s no excuse. Our club needs a ‘get it done’ approach to signings, particularly after recruiting a new manager. Pathetically run.

What SAF said all those years ago was right then - and is particularly so today. Doubly so.

“There is no value in the market.”

I think part of it is a fear, a terror even, of being seen to mess up yet again in a window. The problem is, inactivity and indecisiveness is just as big a negative as just paying what clubs want. When there is a finite window in which to do business, telling everyone you're relaxed or monitoring the situation isn't going to fool them.

The longer it goes on, the more likely we are to not get the required numbers in (not good), not get the right players in as panic takes over, or wind up overpaying as our desperation outstrips that of the selling team. None of those things make you look any more competent.

There has to be a happy medium in negotiating and again we don't seem to be capable of finding it. But never worry, we're relaxed about the situation. Even if Ronaldo isn't

Seeing lots of negativity about transfers on your board lately. I don't get it. If you sign a decent CDM you'll definitely stay up.

Tbf if ETH is as great of a coach as we are led to believe then he could do wonders for likes of Garner Garnacho and Hannibal among others.

We have a lot of quality at the club that is sadly under performing or very raw. I'm quite excited to see how these young players develop under a so called top coach.

New players will join too. We have to be realistic though and not expect us to fix everything in one summer.

I'd concentrate on winning more than Wigan Athletic in the next quarter century. You failed in the previous one.

Seriously, one top four finish in four years and they're insufferable. If there is a decent Spurs fan on this site, I'm yet to see one. It's just one big inferiority complex. "look at me." We see you, we're just not that impressed

“ The longer it goes on, the more likely we are to not get the required numbers in.”

____

What number of players is required? Just quantity over quality?

And, here’s another thing; perhaps, after off-loading so many players (which we all said needed to be moved on) ETH has decided that what he’s left with is sufficient to start the 101 basics of rebuilding.

Are you going to wet your knickers when we don’t make top four next season?

A Moyes style summer window for us would be fine by me anyway. Fans are already hanging by a thread with the owners and the club. If they let ETH down in the very first window and we lose Ronaldo then a sale of the club in my opinion comes ever closer. That's the day I want more than finishing 4th. It's time these cretins sold the club and gave us pretending they know what they're doing. They don't and never have.

Not wetting my knickers. Also not too stupid to realise that when numerous players leave, you can't rely on 7 or 8 youth players to carry you forward. Christ they finished miles off Liverpool and City at under 23 and under 18 level last year. Would be very foolish to think this is such a special crop that Ten Hag can turn more than a few of them into first team players. Let alone throw them in at the deep end straight away. Which would be required as things stand.

You'd struggle to build Lego with such shallow foundations. I doubt Ten Hag is a big enough moron to disagree. Whether he gets the players in that he wants is another matter

How would a bad window bring us closer to a sale?

I agree that most Manchester United fans hate the club owners. When they bought into the club it was the worst day since we were relegated. But it is the manager and players who are responsible if a team fails. I would love to see the team mentality go back to years ago...you score 3, we will score 4.

And that's why Utd fans get so much stick. A lot of them still think that Utd is still in existence today.

I won't be panicking.
There's five weeks to go.
Ten Hag may get us playing better anyway.
It's football.

Another thing, we have been strongly fancied for four players.
I don't know any of them, where do you all get the time to watch?
And I'm retired too.

Yep. I think we could comfortably finish top 8 with that.

I wasn't being sarky, it is a good squad. A mix of older players, with DDG and Shaw having proved them selves.
Maguire can be good.
McFred with your fave Donny and the odd run out for Garner.
Some very promising attackers, lots of speed there, if Erik can set us up right, top 4 imo
