Can Root get to 11k runs by the end of the SA series? He needs 542 but it's only 3 tests so he needs to average just over 90 per innings. You wouldn't bet against him doing it!

Understand the raving about Root, but please dont ignore Bairstow. He was fabulous this test. Looks a player on form

Bairstow has been an absolute revelation. Root started this new era with that fantastic knock at Lords but pretty much since then in the last 3 tests it's mostly been about Jonny Bairstow. His last 6 knocks have been:

Despite his 2 hundreds against Aus and West Indies, I still had serious doubts about him especially as we had Harry Brook waiting in the wings. What a summer he's having though and hopefully it will continue into the South Africa series.

Confidence is crucial. I can see a great summer ahead for him. Looked great this test, aggressive and patient when needed..

Its the eyes that I don't like with Kohli..theres real venom in there.
