I think we’ve just got to forget the last two seasons of his really. Yes, we might be making a virtue of necessity by throwing him back into the first team but he’s always been (potentially) a good player. If he’s fit and motivated, the last two seasons are irrelevant really.

Have any other players been poor or not fulfilled their potential for more than 2 years and multiple managers, but then it just ‘works’ under a new manager and they become good?
He’s still only 26, he needs to have a good season this year though otherwise it’s time to cut ties.

This is a fair question - I’m struggling to think of any obvious ones. I still think it’s just comes down to what he can do and what Ten Hag can get him doing.

Whether he finds his form or not... Who can say? But he's going to be needed given our lack of senior attackers.
He's looked sharp so far this summer and scored a nice 'scrappy' poachers goal (which will have pleased Ole!), and the mood in the camp seems good right now. He might benefit, particularly with the uncertainty around Ronaldo.
I see Nohlman is well into the weekend magical mystery tour of misery.
What are the realistic alternatives that aren’t a risk themselves anyway?
The formation suits him to a tee though. Ball to feet, high amount of possession, accurate and direct passing through the middle. He would thrive in this formation
Ben Yedder as another 30+ stop gap if Ronaldo goes while we wait for the next best upcoming striker to be scouted.

Cantona!
He is definitely good enough. You should keep him and make him your number 9 and bin Ronaldo and not sign a replacement
Sulky French striker? Sounds familiar.
I know Eric was different in that he moved round clubs but when he came to United under SAF he thrived.
All players have a clean slate as far as I'm concerned as long as to they're willing to put the work in.
It appears Erik wants him to stay and give him another chance. I hope he kicks on, I would love nothing more than seeing him, Sancho and Rashford linking up and playing well.
Of course serving their sensei Ronaldo up top
Process champions Martial/Ronaldo so he must speak as Hafi commands the goal keeping situation and Degea v anybody including himself
He’s talented, that much we know. The mangers hes worked under haven’t really made use of his style lf play either.
I’m not expecting much, but I’m hopeful.

I haven’t seen any of our 2 games other than the highlights but apparently his attitude is good. Long may it last.

I won’t doubt his coaching ability but the key bit here is ‘when he has the right focus’ every day and ‘it’s up to him’. This has always been the case, and Martial just hasn’t given a fck.
