Maddison importantly is a homegrown player and we need to keep our HG quota up.

I don't know about anyone else but I don't want to see the team become just a bunch of foreigners. I used to have a go at Arsenal and Chelsea for this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dier, Spence, Sessegnon, Skipp, Kane is a good core of HG players but yes id like a couple more.

Maddison would be great
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many will start is another matter though. You could have a few games with just 1 or 2 starting. I hope Skipp still gets a fair look in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see plenty games all of those would start tbf
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see games where a few of them start, and there may be some games in which just Kane and Dier start. Depends on the rotation aspect really. We now have a big and good enough squad where you could feasibly play a strong team that wouldn't feature any English players.

A creative player can easily play either side of Kane. Lots of teams who use a 343 use that kind of player in those roles

Why are people talking about a creative midfielder?

We play 3-4-3…. This system doesnt allow for such like.

The wingbacks, if they do their roles correctly should provide this.

Fully expect Perisic to provide this, anyway.

Not sure about the right side.., Moura is playing RWB today… should be interesting!

Seems like that’s what the club is looking for next. Dan Kilpatrick has reported as much, Alasdair Gold hinted at it in his last video, and that Paul O Keefe guy on Twitter has said wr are seriously considering Maddison.

Think United blew us out the water with contract for Eriksen …..we could probably match whatever it was but obviously deemed not worth it

I’m disappointed to be honest ….it had a real feel good factor around him coming back but it’s his last big contract so can’t blame him going for the money if that’s the case

Could be he just fancied a bash at another premier league club….again don’t blame him

Just felt him coming back fitted nicely but hey ho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not like he wouldn't be paid well here. I think he just fancied a different challenge with new surroundings and new people. He's already been at Spurs and he must have felt his time here came to a natural end. It's sad in a way because now he's playing for a rival team and will lose some if not all of that love our fans had for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah your last sentence bothers me the most

The cheers and ovation he got when he returned with Brentford was great

That will be replaced with boos unfortunately…..likely anyway
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't boo him myself. All it means for me is that the glowing terms I've spoken of him in while being linked would no longer appear again. The ties have been cut.

Also allows us to switch more easily to a 352 or a 3412 and as I mentioned in the original post it’s a myth that Conte doesn’t play with creative midfielders. All the noises at the moment also suggest that he is the one asking for a creative attacker.

I wouldn’t personally boo him either but we are grown adults with an affinity with Eriksen

A bunch of hammered 18 year olds won’t have the same affinity with him

He will get a good ovation at the start and end of the game ….he won’t get cheered and applauded during the match when he takes a corner for example …the opposite I would think

Unless we are winning 4 nil 😀

He wouldn't get boos off me but he probably wouldn't get cheers either. He's just another player who played for us wearing the United shirt. I still appreciate what he did for us. That's it.

Paqueta or Maddison is a tough call. Both with pros and cons.

If Berardi could play 10, I could see Conte and Paratici being interested

I like Maddison

Always thought he had a bit of Eriksen about him as he demands the ball and tries to dictate play

What he does lack is consistency but when he is on it he is great to watch

He does come across as a bit of a show pony though but all good players have a touch of arrogance (or a lot)
