Nothing shocking about it, went to the highest bidder.

Crazy money for NF. I wonder how much it will upset the rest of the squad?

shocking that WHU arent prepared or able to match Forest...what with all their Europa money from last season, their 60k stadium.

He’s by far the biggest name in the squad, didn’t include a transfer or apparently even a signing on fee.

Would cost a lot more than £10m in fee and wages to get an alternative.

Good move all round.

£80K a week for someone of his calibre is a snip compared to what some are earning in the PL

You have to remember, we haven’t been in the top flight for 22 years and before now, a £2m has seemed a lot of money

It shows that Forest are taking best seasons seriously, and it looking be a yo-yo Club

Really please we’re looking at making a statement

I would say that it is sensible personally. I bet that there isn't anyone near 200k at West Ham. Why would they risk upsetting all of their players for Jesse? He is a decent player, but not that good. Moyes isn't daft. He has got a tight group there that are all grafting for each other. If Jesse comes in on that kind of money it could cause all kinds of issues and Moyes would have had a load of players knocking on his door.

Hmmm, we will see. Bringing in a player that is on 8 times what your highest earner is on could be a huge mistake. Although I guess some of the players will be getting improved deals with that promotion.

I see it as being similar to what Bradford did with Carbone. He was on about 10 times what the rest of the team were on and it just caused a load of issues within the squad.

Oh, is it only 80k a week? I read that it was 200k. If it is 80k then I don' think that is too bad then.

Athletic and Telegraph reporting that he’s been offered £80k per week which could rise to £121k pw with certain clauses.

Other places have said £200k pw, which seems highly unlikely to me.

West Ham *reportedly* offered £150k pw, which is where the £200k pw stories may have come from.

Yep it’s £80K a week, which TBH is still astronomical for where Forest have been over past years - but if we’ve got him for that, which seems to be the what I’ve gathered, then I certainly think it’s been a risk worth taking

1 year deal with option to extend if all parties are happy

I also think he’ll be giving it a damn good go to try and get himself in the England World Cup squad

It isn’t astronomical considering they’ll have the TV money to spend.

It’s ‘astronomical’ in comparison to where Forest have been and their financial dealings over the past 23 years

I really hope he helps you stay up. Always had a soft spot for NF.

The 200k probably would be including signing on fees, image rights, and bouses, etc. on top of the basic salary.

Depending on how it is structured it could work out to be that or maybe the signing on fee and others was paid up front and then it's 80k a week.

“He’s only gone there for the money, he doesn’t give a toss about you,”

scream the fans of a club whose alumni include Freddie Ljungberg, Dimitri Payet, and that renowned socialist, Marko Arnautovic. Maybe Carlos Tevez wanted to move closer to Southend; maybe Javier Mascherano just really likes his eels jellied!
Who knows?

This is all gold
