Benitez's problem has never been squad building or tactics, it's his lack of soul. Numerous people he's worked with have said this. He's been called a genius, but cold in equal measure.

Maybe that's why he seeks out clubs who cultivate good atmospheres in the ground, because he's smart enough to know he doesn't have that ability to connect with people himself. Not even wumming any passing Liverpool fans, it might be a legitimate, pragmatic move on his part
