Looks like sending him out on loan for so long was definitely beneficial for him. There’s no way he’d be at this level if he’d stayed here and not played regular. Hopefully he signs a new deal soon. He plays with confidence, and does have that aura about him that can put doubt into attackers mind about whether they can take him on. I’ve been impressed with his passing as well.
Obviously it’s still very early, and got the usual caveats of it being pre season, he’s young, and the prem will be a big step up from French league. So I’m sure he’ll make his fair share of mistakes this season as he learns the league. But his talent is very clear to see, hopefully we see it in the league. I think he’ll get a fair amount of games this season, Tomiyasu fitness could be an issue, so we’ll probably see white at RB and saliba CB. He’ll probably start in Europe as well. Also there’s signs he’s forming a good partnership with Gabriel, so won’t be surprised if he starts against palace and might make a good case to keep his spot
Really hope we can get him signed up on a new deal.
Had no issue with him going out on loan, he would have probably played 10-15 games max last season for us instead he played 40+ and developed immensely
