Only Wolves can understand why you would loan out your captain to a team your competing with.
As for Mr Wolves who supports Liverpool, what is he thinking
Strange to me to, although I suppose he was not guaranteed first team football.
This move gives him a chance to go to the World Cup.
However his value will go down as he will be another year older, we have form on that.
I don't think it was the wrong decision to move him on. We needed to transition away from the way we were playing as it was curtailing us IMO. With Coady in the team, we were really limited to one way of playing and limited in the numer of forward thinking players we could have on the pitch.
The only issue I have with this deal is that it was a loan. We definitely would have been able to get a fee for him, with both Newcastle and Everton interested. This deal just comes across as similar to the Traore one I'm January, where we send him out for a year and get him back when his value has dropped.
One way or another this will be a defining moment for Wolves. Coady was more important as a leader than a player and realistically doesn't have a place in the team if we are not playing three at the back. We either fall apart conceding too many goals and have no leader on the pitch, or as Lage presumably wants, we become a more attacking team and compensate for the reduced defensive solidity by scoring more. We can't have it both ways but it is one huge call!

Agreed ojr.
No point in attacking if we don't have proven goal scorers though? We have one of the worst frontlines in the division when judged on scoring goals.
Have to admit my eyebrows were raised by this one.
I’m really disappointed.
Disappointed that Coady thinks it’s more important to fight for his place as milk monitor or whatever the feck he does around the England camp rather than for his place at Wolves and disappointed that we have sanctioned the move.
It took three games for Bruno to U turn on his plans last season, if that happens again and we decide to revert to three CBS we have given away a player that could still have made a big contribution.

Indeed, we now need to follow through on signing those strikers. Otherwise we will be in the worst of all world. Good article in the Independent today btw on Coady and our poor attacking record last season.

"Disappointed" is not the word to describe my feelings this morning. I feel like my intestines have been ripped out and fed to rabid Sandwell stray dogs.
Am I the only one concerned about Collins? Last time I looked he was part of a team that got relegated last season FFS.

It didn’t pass me by that our only signing (until yesterday) was a CB from a relegated club, shades of 2011/12.
I reckon Collins will be OK, and we do have quite a bit of cover for him, Boly, Toti (at the moment), Mosquera
My worry is that Boly has looked like he is running in treacle whenever caught one on one for the last year. I don't think Toti will make it long term with us.
I think we probably needed another experienced centre back who is an upgrade on what we have. Collins and Kilman are still relatively inexperienced in this system at this level, but we still have so many areas of the squad that need improving so I think that needs to go on the back burner. Hopefully one of Mosquera and Toti can step up if needed.
I thought you and a few others said that neither Mosquera or Toti were ready. Oh wait...agenda.

Never argue with an idiot, it’s like playing chess with a pigeon.
No matter how good you are, the bird is going to carp on the board, knock the pieces over and strut around as if it won.
