MGW to Forest £45m confirmed
Madness
Shame to see him go as would rather see a few of the others depart ahead of him(Hwang, Podence) but it is a big fee for what is still an unproven player at this level.
Sound like 25 up front and another 10 or so almost guaranteed and then 9 in pretty tough bonuses. Likely Europe, International caps etc.
Worth noting Amiga said we wouldn't get 15 two months ago.

We had the debate a few months ago and we were saying he is worth around the 20 and you said no chance. Tino will confirm.
Well I remember talking to some Sheffield fans who said they thought a fee of 20 million might get him, what I found surprising is they rated him so highly.
If I was guessing a price for him 15 million sounds about right, but in today's football market the sky is the limit, and what I think is fair and what others are willing to pay are two different things.
I must admit I would like to know the context, as I remember a discussion.
I just had a quick look. Seems like you had a discussion with Wolfie. Can't find anything from me, But I seem to remeber a discussion, what was said I can't remember, although I know I was looking forward to seeing MGW playing for Wolves.
Big gamble that for Forest, good business for us. Not the kind of bid you can turn down really. Would have liked to have seen him progress at Wolves but have never been quite convinced that he'll make it at the highest level. Maybe this move will be the making of him and he'll thrive without the pressure of being the home town boy.
I do think though that Forest will be bust and back in League 1 in 5 years years time.
Cinci. This is all I have found. Doesn't seem to back you up your statement though.

Southampton evidently lining up a £20m bid for MGW. Would you sell him?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely we have to give him a go first?

I was really looking forward to seeing MGW this season, the lad has something, but It does seem like crazy money for an unproven player at Prem level.
I actually think he will do ok and carve out a nice career for himself. But as you say Oldgold, Forest could be setting themselves up for a fall. I have a feeling they are gambling on staying in the Prem, even if they do, they could be building up a load of hurt in the future.
We were chatting back in feb march time.
MGW to Forest is crazy money for "an unproven player at Prem level".
But Fabio was the right player at the right price.
Maybe we were Cinci, I do seem to remember something, But as my post showed I didn't want to sell him at 20 million. So again without context, I can't comment.

This is a fair comment Deja, Silva was a gamble, but a calculated one. As much as I would have liked MGW to stay, he was not signing a contract, and the options were limited. So I can understand Wolves letting him go.
The fee is a guaranteed 25m with possible add ons. So for a player who still hasn't impressed a lot of folks is a good deal. As I said yesterday, my jury was still out on him, but if the fee is right then sell him. A good bit of work by Wolves, in my opinion, of course.
I think MGW would have been a great player to have in the squad, young, definitely some talent, but not guaranteed a starting place. If he was willing to sign a contract I would have kept him. But sadly letting him go is the right decision.
Would have MGW over Podence or Hwang all day every day. But as we can all agree, you can't turn down crazy fees for anyone, this is why I was so annoyed when we didn't cash in on Traore when he was still in demand two seasons ago.

I think it is fairly obvious at this stage I should be in control of our purse sterings Tino. I don't miss. Even Jed 'feckin' Wallace. Every man and his dog saying he was league 1 at best except for this wily old wolf.
How are the ITKs playing it on Molmix. I am on a two week suspension

You red penned me earlier today Amiga?
Double standards perhaps.
