Even if results don't go your way at the start of the season he should stick to this and get backing. He may finish midtable in the short term but rid of the likes of poor players like Maguire and Fred and a few additions, progress can be made whilst playing good football.
It seems like United have been after short term gain, well at least the managers until now have felt that way and had to go after results rather than transition the team over time for the long term.
Although you're about to get smashed so it can over get better from after tonight.
