Very disappointed that Milner started and then was left on tonight for as long as he was.
Klopp seems to have a blind spot with him, can't see how poor he's become.
We had about 8 or 9 first team players unavailable tonight but even so our second team should be quite capable of beating that shower of sheight.
Still if it fools the glaziers into thinking they don't need to change anything then it isn't a complete loss

It's 3 games. The League isn't won in August.
Liverpool have a very winnable game at the weekend and City are playing their bogey team (of late)
A Liverpool win and a City loss and suddenly both teams are in a similar predicament/position
I'll wait until April until I start making predictions.
It depends on how you define first choice. If you define it only as the 11 players who would start if all fit them no team ever has 11 first choice players but the game is a squad game these days. Also, if you lose your first choice in a position then your backup becomes effectively first choice until the other player returns.
So Matip and Konate would both start ahead of Gomez. Thiago, Fabinho, Keita would likely start ahead of Milner and Elliot (and possibly Hendo).
Jota and Nunez would arguably start ahead of Firmino.
So that's 7 players that would all have improved the team today but weren't available.
Having said that, United played a lot better than they have done recently and took their goals well. Liverpool struggled to create any really clear chances.
Total neutral … in fact, have always had a bit of a soft spot for ‘Pool since you signed King Kenny from my lot in my youth. Anyways, didn’t fancy your starting lineup at all when I saw it pre-match. Dozy and dozier on the right side of defence, and that seems to be spreading to VVD … starting midfield 3 was bang average … and Firmino’s been a bit of a passenger for a while now. Appreciate Klopp had very limited options with the chronic injury situation, but that level of lethargic performance in a game vs Utd was a bit worrying, no?

That was 3 years ago. The season before, and every season since, Matip has played more games than Gonez. So it's clear you are talking nonsense. Last season Konatw played more than Gomez. So Gomez is fourth choice.
Fabinho has had fitness issues this season. Henderson didn't start the previous game. Our first choice midfield is Fabinho, Thiago and most likely Keita.
Firmino wasn't even first choice above Jota last season, and it's clear Nunez is going to be ahead of him this season.
