Maybe the reason your Belgian friend going to Grimsby did not seem bizarre is that the well known fashionable holiday destination of Cleethorps is in Grimsby. Coincidentally I once went on a holiday to the Belgian resort of Blankenberg which is probably on a par with Cleethorps. I have also had a week in Humberston which is Cleethorps' down at heel neighbour.
My Grimsby stories:
The first match I remember attending at the City Ground was an F. A. Cup tie in 1959 which we won (of course) 4-1
I also remember going to Cleethorps to see us play them in a friendly. Don't remember anything about it except that Cleethorps is a grim place to go for a holiday(pun intended)
Tonight I expect SC to make eleven changes to the team which strted on Saturday.
My Grimsby
Grimsby used to have a fishing fleet, but I would imagine that has gone!
Grimsby should get a decent crowd, as Forest have sold out. I wonder if Lyle Taylor will start? S.C has been trying to get him in the shop window during the PSF ?

Yes gone. Along with 90% of uk fishing fleet thanks to thatcher and the rest of the Tory shysters
Very strong team SC is sending out. Should score a few tonight.
biggest surprise is Aron Donnelly starting as L/W/B!
Dennis fluffs an early chance
Ryan Yates opens the scoring.
I thought Yates was excellent when he came on against Everton on Saturday.
Super Sam doubles the lead
I think we will bring on a couple of youngsters in the second half
Law 11 Offside
Para 3: No offence
There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:
a goal kick
a throw-in
a corner kick
Nice to see Surridge bag two both with assets from Cafu I think?
