Conditions have played a part but this might be the single best performance I've seen from the Bengals on both sides of the ball

will it be neutral field next weekend?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shouldn't be. Bengals lost more games than the Chiefs despite playing less.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, IF the Bengals make it then it wouldn't have needed to be a neutral site against the chiefs. Today absolutely should have been though, not really sure how they got away with it not being. The Bengals should be suing the feckers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Decision makes sense to me. Both teams have played the same amount of games. The game between them wasn't a divisional one, so didn't need to be played to factor in home and away. Records over 16 games could be compared.
I can see why the Bengals would want to use it to create a victim narrative and siege mentality though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That doesn't make sense though Tam
If the Bengals had beaten the Bills in that abandoned game then the Bengals would have been the second seed, thus have home field advantage.
So how did they decide that the Bills could have caught the Chiefs for the number one seed but ignore the Bengals being able to catch the Bills for the number two, in a game the Bengals were winning no less?
I wonder how the Chiefs will gameplan for the Bengals in light of Mahomes's high ankle sprain

It's quite simple. Chiefs and Bills didn't have comparable records. Bills had played one less game and potentially could have caught the Chiefs if they had played the same amount.
Bengals and Bills do have comparable records as they have played the same amount of games. It's nothing do with them saying the Bengals couldn't have caught the Bills. It's to do with whether you can compare the records they ended with.
Looks like Mahomes will certainly play, he came back in yesterday and played fine.
Just can't see the Bengals beating the Chiefs four times in a row.
If the records were switched, it would have been played in Cincinatti and the AFC Championship game between Bengals and Chiefs would have been played at a neutral location.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But the neutral site thing came about because of the argument the Bills could have gotten the one seed. What is the difference between that and the Bengals being able to get the two seed. The game today should absolutely have been at a neutral site based on their decision for the championship game.
Mahomes mobility will be hugely impacted by a high ankle sprain. It's a big advantage for the Bengals as they can focus on cutting off passing lanes from the pocket, as his ability to extend plays is reduced.

I am not though am I. What am I saying that misses the point. They decided the Bills could have been the one seed but the Bengals couldn't have been the two seed.
They didn't decide the Bengals couldn't be the two seed. They decided to go with the current records as they were comparable. You are deliberately ignoring this.
