He crossed the ball for the third goal at Chelsea last week, so he isint "just" quick.

There is also the fact that selling hum would leave us with two first team wungera, one of which we have not really seen anything of.
.
Seems to me that fans have complained endlessly about the lack of squad depth, but then the moment we get it people want to get rid of it rather than using it to make sure we can get through a full season

I think it's all about balance in the squad.

We had 3 wingers in the first eleven yesterday with two more on the bench. Dallas is also a winger but a long term injury. The depth in the winger department is there.

What we don't have is experienced cover for the striker's position. Bamford is out again, Rodrigo was off the boil yesterday, and we're looking to youngsters with little experience to make a difference.

I would personally sacrifice James if it meant we could spend the money on a decent, established central striker - someone who could challenge for the role in the first eleven, and not just a bench warmer to come on for the occasional bit-part.

This could have been sorted out weeks ago, but as we always seem to do, dithering has left us sweating at the back end of the window when everyone else is also on the scrounge.

Failure to land a decent striker would spoil what has otherwise been a very good window for us.

Personally believe the money would immediately fund the striker signing, whomever that may be. So squad size would not suffer as a result. Plus I believe we may have a talent to more than match him in Summerville, given time & opportunity.

Yes he put the ball across for the third goal last week.

My problem with James is this. Can you remember a game where you were left with the feeling that this lad is the real deal? A full game? First half away at Villa last season sticks in my mind, but other than that my main memories of him last season were him picking up bookings for ridiculous late challenges.

For the money we paid, he's been very poor in my eyes.

Defending corners yesterday…what is James doing in the box? He should be around 40 yards out waiting to latch on to the clearance.

Would sell if we got a better replacement. We need depth however and the wide areas in the only area where we have some .....

We really pull your pants down with him which is odd for us.

The problem we have now after faffing about for so long regarding whether or not a new striker and left back are added to the squad is that we are so close to transfer deadline day the options available are very limited.

So who is there now that we can say is going to bang in the goals and defend at left back better than what we have?

The only quality left back available to my knowledge is ex Leeds man Taylor but too many supporters find that objectionable.

The only Striker possibly available that has any pedigree of scoring at the highest level is Che Adams and he isn't exactly prolific and would also not be a very popular signing with the majority of Leeds fans.

Now we are linked with another ex JM player from Wolves who is even less prolific than Che Adams.

Maybe selling James will at least give Summerville a chance to shine and give us the opportunity to buy this young Gnonto lad from Zurich and the German left back player who has played for JM before.

Failing all this then miracles may happen and Bamford can stay fit for half a season at least and Firpo comes good and actually resembles a decent left back.

sell..........at the right price

All Leeds players are available at the right price - board has said as much.

Should he be sold now? - No, because i dont think the club is anywhere near bringing another player in. The clues have been in the interviews. Even if we lost by 7 to Everton i dont think there will be any further movements in the transfer market. They gambled on staying up last season and with 7 points i think they will gamble again.

Marsch has already said he is happy with his left back options - Firpo / Struijk / Hjelde with Dallas to come back in the New Year. One cant keep buying players for the same position if you cant sell the ones you have? Firpo has a 3-year deal with handsome wages. Can we afford to write off effectively £20m?

Only sell if it's for the right amount and we are bringing someone in ideally a striker.

I firmly believe we still have irons in the fire regarding a striker & IF the Spurs stories are true then for me James has to be on his way.

I can't believe anyone would even offer £10 million for him so double that would be an absolute result.

Swap him for Son, but only if they give us 20 million on top.
