Any kind of racing (running, swimming, road cycling, horses, cars) if it isn't over in less than 5 minutes leaves me cold. I'm more sympathetic to motobike racing as there's that element of jeopardy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I once read a quote about the 1500m that may apply to you.
"Long enough to be interesting. Short enough not to be boring".
Before anybody says anything get your dirty minds out of the gutter. Degenerates!
American football. Used to watch quite a bit. Even won several pools, but the over hype and the snail's pace of setting the play was just too much after some years.
A 60 minute game with 25 minutes of actual playing time that takes 3-4 hours to play.
Pure garbage.

Love horse racing although I lose a fortune with it. Football I win over the course of a year but I give most of it back to the bookies on horses.
Anything American, all tedious.
Swimming
Gymnastics
Ice Hockey on TV, it’s a great game to watch live though

Club cricket and club rugby Union
Love the international level, especially cricket. Don't give 2 figs about the clubs...altho I watch Exeter Chiefs when I'm home

Baseball or silly boy rounders, as Del said.
Also, anything to do with horses, bar the Grand National.
Most American sports. Basketball is just about bearable.
People should watch AFL though, one of the most fun sports in the world to watch and with actual history and tradition.

I got invited to a MLB match when I was on a business trip in Houston. It's such a boring sport. But the stadium experience - the constant consumption of food, the socialising, and to me as a European looking in from the outside) the cultural anthropology - was enjoyable. I've switched it on a couple of times on TV since then and couldn't last more than five minutes.

Yeah, sounds about right. All style and no substance whereas with soccer (sorry) you could just chuck a random game on at 3am with nothing but a pot noodle in your hand and enjoy the thrill of the actual game in ways the baseball fans will surely never
I enjoy American Football. A lot more exiting than either form of Rugby.
Tennis sticks out like a sore thumb in the OP. It's a terrific sport to watch.
I've tried to get into cricket but struggle. I see the appeal with playing golf; watching it, on the other hand... Rugby League is more entertaining than Rugby Union.

I largely agree. But this weekend I sat down and flicked through the channels, and the only football on the TV was the Canadian league. Have to say I didn't experience the thrill of the game.

BS
Baseball is a very complex n nuanced game that u cannot aporeciate bye!🖐 watchin 5 minits of
I think that's true, and I know smart people who are obsessed with it. There are layers of tactical complexity. I think appreciating baseball fully means a lot of the appreciation comes from the invisible intellectual layers and the actual plays are kind of the tip of the iceberg. Which is also to say that, a bit like chess, although the tactical elements are very absorbing if you appreciate them properly, it doesn't deliver on the level of real-time spectacle the way football regularly does. Of course you can also get more out of football the more you understand tactics, the better you can read the game, but it still delivers as a spectacle if you don't.
