has he really spent 200m? i thought they did all their spending pre gerrard tbf?
Something like 16 defeats in 32 PL games
hes had 2 windows with villa he joined in nov 2021 so got jan 2022 and this window which theyve spent 3m on a keeper 28m on a cb and made the cout loan perm 48m and recouped 38m so 10m net. so must have spent a lot in january? nope they signed digne?
Villa are weird - maybe the same as Wolves as on paper a decent side but little end product.
He's awful. Very lucky he's got mates in the media.

They absolutely hate him.
Will statistically be there worst ever manager when they lose to City next game.
Don’t get me wrong we’re crap this season so not trying to throw stones but just generally curious
Lampard at pretty much a like for like club as a comparison gets far more criticism despite not being given barely anything to spend, a shorter time managing Everton and they sold Richarlinson
Just very odd
They should of just backed Deano he was making them very good
I think Deano was done there too, but he got them outta the second tier and had them playing some good stuff for a time. Gerrard has just proven to be the completely wrong choice to get them to that next level.
I think they are correct on the Villa forum that they are probably sounding out his successor already, they seem to think Rodgers, Potter or Poch. It will be interesting to see how it goes.
Give him time , it took fergie a while to get going
I have so much love for this comment from the Villa forum.
“No point sacking him and then we get trounced by city.
Let gerrard getting the beating he deserves for being utterly clueless and hopeless then get the search on for a replacement for leicester”
Yeah that's why I linked there forum, it makes for entertaining reading.
What’s the deal with him being their worst ever manager? I looked at some stats of their other managers and I don’t think it’s true.
The media will always back their boys, was no different with Lampard (was one of the pluses of him being our manager in fact, no media pressure). What matters is the voice of the fans & tbf he's not escaped criticism at all on that front, besides maybe from Liverpool fans - but these are the same people who actually believe Benitez being cr@p at Everton was by design
Go onto any forum, any comment section of an article or on YouTube and he's getting hammered.

It's a drum they keep beating on there, apparently he will statistically be the worst manager after they lose to city. Quite a feat when you think of some of the dross they employed in the last ten years.

That doesn't seem to back it up, so maybe they mean subjectively. He's going to fall behind Tim Sherwood by the looks of it.
Villa were an interesting team to watch under Martin O'Neil.
Yeah I saw it mentioned before, and it was said to be statistically the worst, which doesn’t seem to add up. Unless it’s statistically within a certain set of parameters, perhaps after a certain amount of games.
There is always a lot of hyperbole when fans have completely turned against the manager, the atmosphere at Villa Park will be toxic for the City game. Wonder if they will just sack him tomorrow to avoid that?
