Why extend AMN contract? A case of hoping to get a few million next summer...
Seems a risk considering how far away from being a first team player he is. Could end up being stuck with him again next year.

From the clubs side it means he doesn't walk away for a free - the loan has an option to buy which wouldn't be there if he was free.
Without it, AMN may have turned down the loan and sat out for a year. Now he has a bit of security.

I do. Premier League experience and technically a good player. Arteta knows him well.
I am excited if we are manage to pull this deal off.
Ornstein now confirming our interest in him. Player like the idea as well.
A big big yes from my side. The Danilo link is vague and difficult to manage as Palmeiras dont need money and dont want to lose the guy.
Luiz would be a good signing. Good alternative to Partey and can also go more B2B. And takes a wicked corner.
is Luiz a regular for Villa? I did not think he would be going to a big 6 side at all.
Did you not learn your lesson with the last Luiz?

28 starts in first season, 32 in second and 31 last season.
Nothing wrong with David Luiz at Arsenal, massively positive influence in the dressing room, really helped the youngsters step up, and mainly good performances on the pitch.
He does have the kind of role that you can miss and i rarely watch Villa because there's always paint drying somewhere but i am surprised because he's never stood out to me as a player.
At least he's a moral upgrade on Partey
Reeks of a panic buy to me. Cannot see what he offers that Sambi, if afforded more games cannot do.
If Danilo is our long term objective for a 6, why not wait until the January window.

We can't wait until January again. We did that last term with Auba. We can not make that mistake again and hope we come through to a hectic schedule until November when the WC starts.
We have been linked with Douglas Luiz ever since Arteta has been in charge. He knows him from City.
Danilo has absolutely no PL experience, and this signing wouldn't impact on him anyway as Palmeiras don't intend to sell mid season (we went through the same charade last year as well).
He offers a lot more than Sambi in a DM role.

He just confirmed Mudryk not leaving Shakhtar.
Mudryk will be a top player. Hope we go back in January.

Any idea how long Elneny is out for?

Looks like Gerrard won't be sacked just yet then.
As for Dendoncker won't even need to move the kids school.

Of course it is. Looks like Aston Villa knew of Arsenal's interest since a few days and it's now all on haggling out a good price for him.
£20 million as an opening bid seems a lot for a “one year left on his contract” Luiz.
Bellerin off to Barcelona. How on earth did we not get a transfer fee for a decent player like him??
James Olayinka off to Cheltenham in a permanent transfer.
