He also only got relegated once from the PL even though most jobs he took on were for teams tipped for the drop.

Allardyce was only sacked by Blackpool and Blackburn, and you can't count England imo.
A lot of managers are hired for specific reasons (keeping teams up, getting promotion) and when they do that expectations grow and they get sacked, then the next managers do worse and take them (back) down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he was also sacked by Newcastle after only 7-8 months in charge
I agree with the rest of your comment though
But my point still stands, imagine stinking the place out at your previous job, taking the company down, and then your rivals give you a call and say... ''you wanna come and do that for us as well''?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There must be a real shortage of managers for so many to keep getting regurgitated. I did like big sam with Bolton though.

Mick Mccarthy, not sure on the number of sakcs, however I've lost count of the number of clubs he's appeared at, and it's not for him achieving everything and looking for a new challenge, that's for sure

Rogers spoke out against the board. Don't think he will last much longer
Feel sorry for Rodgers, I think he has done well at Leicester overall and is well ahead of the other 2 in terms of managerial ability right now. Him at Leicester reminds me a bit of Pochettino at Spurs when things started going stale because the squad wasn't refreshed.
Rodgers seems to want the pay off, so I'm gonna go for him. I think Gerrard and Lampard will get more time than they should do because of their reputations.

Why do managers who have their contracts terminated early, but who get immediately appointed by new clubs, get pay offs? Is it not a simple damages claim for breach of contract? in which case what is the loss?
Why is Bruno Lage not in this argument also? Fairly underwhelming season last time. No wins in 5 so far. Big game for them this weekend. If they don’t they go into back to back games with Liverpool and City with no wins.

I dunno. Under his watch they’ve spent good money on very average players like Soumare, Daka, Vestergaard, Bertrand etc. He inherited a good team and has made it progressively worse. He’s not been able to invest this summer partly because the KP group are hemorrhaging money and partly because they don’t trust him to spend it. The problem is, they don’t want to spend what it will cost to sack him, then replace him.
There is a lot of talk of Villa sacking Gerrard and moving for Rodgers, and I think it’s gonna become a game of chicken - Leicester won’t wanna sack Rodgers first and pay him out if there’s a chance of Villa buying him out, Villa won’t want to buy him out if they could get him for free when Leicester sack him.
Rodgers has clearly been trying to engineer the sack lately - his team selections have been bizarre including playing Ndidi at CB against Utd when he had Soyuncu available, and he’s followed it up by publicly criticising the board. He must be aware of interest from elsewhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't so long ago that we were praising Leicester for their shrewd recruitment. If we are now having a go at Rodgers for poor players brought more recently, then the club should be held accountable too.
I'm not even sure how much input Rodgers has in the signings but anyway, considering the 2 previous managers finished 12th and 9th, two top 5 finishes and an FA Cup is a marked improvement under his watch. I think Leicester understand this hence why they've not got rid already, owing to his credit in the bank.
If I was Villa, Rodgers would seem like a good move. You can't argue he hasn't done a decent job to some extent at the majority of his clubs, from Swansea to Liverpool to Celtic and to Leicester.

Not a great argument tbh
Big Sam might have been sacked soon into his Newcastle tenure but that was because they weren’t happy with his style of football. They knew what it would be like before he joined so they shouldn’t have appointed him. His record there was not why he was sacked. Since he left there he did well at corner clubs including Blackburn, Sunderland and Everton, so your point that past record is an indication of future performance doesn’t stand.
Many managers have been unsuccessful at clubs and then gone on to perform better at other clubs, David Moyes at West Ham for example, in fact I’d wager that many of the managers in the premier League probably have some blemish somewhere on their CV. If clubs are not willing to appoint managers who may have had some failures somewhere then we’d run out of applicants for their shortlists.
Nobody is actually doubting Rodgers is a good manager surely? He hasn't failed at any club yet has he?

He's been sold down the river a bit in my opinion. Key players have left and he's been made to make do with inferior replacements.
