Apparently according to who?

Some fella called Paul O’Keefe.

Has 100% record picking spurs line ups this season.

If that happens to be the line up I'd be more than happy with that. Bentancur returning, Rich in for the underperforming Son, and most of all Romero back. Don't really fancy seeing Sanchez get raped by Mitrovic.

If that were the lineup, I’d hope to see something like this for CL game:

Lloris
Romero Dier Lenglet
Doherty Skipp PEH Perisic
Deki Rich Son

Suspect Kane will start both games though.

I really hope Conte drops Royal but I doubt it

I like that

Kane needs a rest. Maybe Son too.
Do they get it now, or in the CL match?
Time for others to step up.

The continued playing of Dier and Davies is worrying. Both slow Spurs down massively when bringing the ball out. I am astonished that both are still holding down 1st XI places.

Mitrovuc is quite capable of getting the better of Romero as well. I think a lot of our supporters get carried away with Romero. He has a lot of improvement to make to be really top drawer. He makes mistakes like all the Spurs defenders. Never get why he gets a free ride, and others don't.

I like Romero, but he certainly is not top drawer yet.

Ted, Kane doesn't need a rest. Spurs have only played five games. Ye Gods surely he ain't worn out already? He will start today and Wednesday, 100 per cent and score two or three goals.

I thought we looked as stale as yesterday's toast on Weds and we really need to make 4/5 changes for today's game to freshen things up.

I've got a big night out planned with some fellas I used to play footie with who I haven't seen since before lockdown, Spurs better not ruin it for me!!?

So you're okay with Kane playing 2 games a week for the next couple of months?
He's 29 now, and not indestructible.

Conte says he's going to have to rest players given the schedule with CL etc.
If so, then the Fulham game is a good one to give your top layer(s) a rest.
And to test out what the seocnd string can do.
If they can't beat Fulham then Conte has got a real problem!

Can’t agree with this Sandy. Romero is top drawer already. Yes he can make mistakes, but certainly not on the level of Sanchez or Dier. Romero is outstanding.

I always feel much more content and confident when Romero is in defence. I have hated the Sanchez, Dier and Davies back line. Feels me with dread every time.

All of the big players play twice a week for months on end, they simply do not get rested most of the time. It is what it is. What is the point of being in the CL if you are going to rest the best players. Messi, Ronaldo etc never got rested at aged 29, they played game after game in the big tournaments. Kane will do the same. He is a fit young man.

I'm not a fan either but Conte's tactics of playing so deep actually protect the three cb's the most.

Completely agree Mate

Romero is top drawer ….he can be casual sometimes but I prefer that then the rabbit in the headlights Sanchez or the casual Dier , who doesn’t have the ball playing quality of Romero to be casual

Davies is Davies ….solid pro but I want to see what lenglet can bring now …..Davies does at least bring the ball forward from the back the way Romero does on the right which opens play up but Sanchez is a statue

Those three wouldn’t get a game together anywhere else in the prem ….average individually but collectively worse than that

I’d be happy to try a Romero Sanchez Lenglet back three.

Sanchez can win it back and just make a short pass to the other two to play out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would prefer to see Sanchez, Romero and Lenglet.

I think Romero would thrive in the middle and almost compliment PEH and Bentancur with his pro active approach at winning the ball. He is good sniffing out danger whilst Dier just watches and points looking busy.

Sanchez is capable of doing a job at RCB defensively and thats about it.

Agreed, that trio is bang average. Can’t believe the amount of clean sheets we have kept. Dier and Sanchez certainly need replacing with better quality for me.

Romero Dier Lenglet at the back please.

Plus Lloris needs to up his game with his distribution… seriously!

Don, he is OK, not top drawer. He is not great in the air at set pieces, often loses the ball bringing it out, and his liable to be picking up needless yellow and red cards through recklessness. Yes he does have some decent qualities and has plenty of time to improve, but he is nowhere near top of the tree.
