Didn’t really go for us when Antonio shouldn’t have been on the pitch to score their goal. The decision that went our way was at least correct
That’s just a stupid reply by morespurs considering what the OP actually wrote, and the reason why he wrote it.

Yeah I don’t really get this. I thought it was a foul at the end and suprised Antonio wasn’t sent off.
VAR is commissioned to help 4 or five clubs if the referees make mistakes against them. Nothing to see here.

West Ham must be on then or Antonio would have been sent off at some point for his many fouls

Antonio COULD have been sent off but the referee decided not to and VAR didn't get involved - I can accept that. I know I am going to be in the minority of Chelsea fans but if Mendy had been brave enough to do his job properly, he wouod have been fouled, but he chickened out, palmed the ball away (not for the first time) and was caught by the momentum of the forward. It's not a foul. But my point is that VAR is ruining the game. Offsides are scientific, serious foul play is something we don't want - the rest shouldbe left alone.
I can debate with you about the goal. If I was a West Ham fan I’d feel aggrieved. But Antonio should have seen red and then scored 2 mins later. I don’t think we can say West Ham we’re robbed because of that
Agree with you about var though mate. It’s being used so badly

OP said "it went against us twice against Spurs"
Did it? Well, Spurs had many incidents where the ref blew against us when clearly, he shouldn't have. Well refs make mistake so move on.

I mean, clearly Chelsea got shafted vs Spurs but from what I saw of today (didn't watch the whole game, only saw James kicking out and the disallowed goal) it seems like it was West Ham who got shafted today. Although I can't speak for any Antonio incidents.
End of the day it's obviously just incompetency, but it's happening so often with pretty simple calls and is directly responsible for how points are being earned. Its really embarrassing for the league in my opinion.
It evened itself out because Antonio should have been sent off.
All there is to it. West Ham got the 1 goal they deserved.

I agree. James was lucky he didn't make real contact and that Antonio didn't milk it. A yellow was fair. The Antonio one, well in rugby, that challenge is high and around the throat and would be a yellow but he would have been unlucky as his caution was reating to James provoking him. VAR didn't get involved - Swings and roundabouts. But the disallowed goal was a bit of a joke. The referees are awful and the ones in charge of VAR even worse - there's no solution. As a Chelsea fan, I cringe when I see Mike Dean as the VAR ref, he has always hated Chelsea. And when they pair him with Anthony Taylor, we're sunk!!!!
People will claim that the problem is the officials, not VAR, but they’re wrong.
Firstly, slow motion deceives referees into believing there is greater intent than there actually is. That’s a scientific fact.
Secondly, what we’ve inadvertently done is given players the opportunity to scream and whine about the slightest of touches in the hope the incident will be referred. We are feeding the cheats.
Mendy will come away from today knowing that cheating has won them the game.
Finally, this pursuit of perfection is clueless. Football is subjective. Slowing things down and analysing decisions doesn’t mean we will get to agreement with all incidents.
It’s a mess. A joke.
How many clear cut errors are resolved thanks to VAR vs the number of minor, debatable, misleading incidents being overturned?
The VAR brigade will stick to their guns much like the Brexit brigade. The Internet isn’t a place for people admitting when they’re wrong.
But VAR improving football? What a joke.
Think it's a mix of the two, VAR undoubtedly boxes refs into certain situations with the ways you're allowed to use it, but the standard of reffing is clearly an issue too
For me it was a foul anyway. But I can see why it would divide opinion.

VAR was introduced to reduce the need to discuss refs mistakes during games. We just seem to be discussing var mistakes and ref mistakes now.
Refs will make mistakes and if it goes against you it's verging on a criminal offence, if it goes for you, oh well. Simply though refs will always make mistakes because there is only one, a rather large area creating countless angles creating so many opportunities to get it wrong that I actually think we do not fully appreciate what they do for the game. Not one of us could do a better job.
