Liverpool look like they'll struggle for top 4 I think Sandy. Forget them for now and this season I would say.
Hope City can take a point off you this Saturday so we can push further for the title, I think this is going to be a low points tally to win it like it was in 15/16.
Add into the mix the mid season WC and it really could be a topsy-turvey season!!
City had an off day, in fact they were schitt this weekend, but they won’t have too many of those.
Salah doesn’t look right to me, he just looks a bit off it, not sure if he is carrying anything.
Arsenal did exactly what I said they would and lost to the first decent side they came up against, there will be plenty more of that.
Chelsea can stop whinging about those Spurs decisions after the FA levelled it up for them this weekend.
ETH has had a fantastic 2 weeks, I’m still not convinced by United though.
Son needs to keep going, his form will return soon enough, hopefully next week. I think had we bought that elit CB we would have had a real chance this season, however I’m certain we will be top 4 at least

They've let their best player go and now they can't score goals anymore. Salah looks finished and that Nunez is just awful. In fact I think people are disrespecting Lukaku by comparing him to that guy, because to be fair to Romelu he scored plenty of goals in the EPL. This Nunez guy won't even get 10 this season... he can't even kick a football properly
I think Brighton might just pip Spurs for fourth this season.
Thanks Sandy I always enjoy your Dust has settled posts
Despite a couple of blips, I’ve still seen nothing to suggest that City won’t absolutely stroll to the title again this season.
But below them it’s a very open field, and I can see positions 2-6ish being down to a handful of points by end of season. I personally think on what we’ve seen so far, Spurs are potentially the best of the rest after City.

Amazing how a few weeks ago everyone was talking about a crisis at utd, ETH to be sacked, relegation fears etc. and now they're three points off the top!
I know the club is a mess (and their spending is just embarrassing) but the overreaction from media and fans these days is crazy.

Should be OK if we continue to pick up 6 points every other game.
Good post and I'm pretty much in full agreement with you for once!
It was an interesting weekend, Arsenal have definitely improved on last season and we'd be stupid to think otherwise. They're an injury or two away from having an average squads again though, Hopefully the pressures of Europe play a part there (although we're all in that boat).
Utd are now in the mix and will only get better.
Chelsea/Liverpool - No idea with those two right now but they'll hit some form eventually.
It's still City's to lose but, as the weekend showed, they are very much beatable and should have lost were it not for some dodgy ref decisions.
Brighton will surprise a lot of people and do some damage to the teams around them.
I don't know where that all leaves us. A good start but not spectacular. That's okay though as we do tend to grow in to the season. I think whoever does miss out on top 4 come the end of the season will be disappointed because literally anyone could get it this year.
Big week coming up and can't wait to hear the champions league music at the Lane again! COYS.

Hawkeye. I think we agree on most things Spurs related. You are a decent poster.
As echoed elsewhere on here, I like these "dust settled" mini-series. Don't always agreed with them but nevertheless, there is something that makes sense, away from football fanaticism demonstrated by a few on here.
Nothing I can add tbh, but just that I still don't think Dier is a CB, if you look he stands there with his arms behind him and lets the opposition shoot at goal? I was never a defender but I am sure defenders are supposed to close the gap and put body on the line. Even Davies does that?
Imo Dier will cause us to drop points.
I loved Richy boy. We need to save him for games and only bring him on around an hour mark. He can the destroy the opposition. I am a little worried about Sonny boy...The longer he doesn't score the more desperate he will get and will stop setting up others and try every chance by himself when someone else may be in a better situation?
Overall, we are looking like a solid outfit with plenty of options - Imagine having Perisic on the bench, mind boggles! What a player to bring on.
Good stuff, and can't wait for the City test. Dier for me will get found out in this game. Hope i am wrong. But going forward, Spurs are a match for any side.

Agree with this. A lot of pundits, like Neville, speak about ownership and tearing out the foundations root and branch, but in truth, a good manager and a winning run can change all that. Contrary to popular belief, you can win things without necessarily having the perfect infrastructure. Chelsea and Arsenal can attest to that. Arsenal's better period came before they bought the stadium. You don't need the perfect ground or the perfect training facility to win things.
You missed the fact that the best striker in the PL is now one third of the way to 30 goals after playing less than 6 full games Sandy.
Kane is better than Haaland bomdia.
Haaland doesn’t impact your gameplan enough and yeah ok he scores goals but most of the time he’s a ghost. If he went on a drought you’d be in serious trouble because it’s like you have a player less than the opposition.
