I note you say you need a striker....
in a completely hypothetical deal, would you, if you were manager of blackburn, go for a swap deal of Samba for Bentdner? Touted fees for both seem to be similar, £12m for Samba, £14m for Bender.
Speaking purely hypothetically Zaphod, I think that would be a poor deal based simply on how I can't get my head around the £14m valuation for Bendtner. An effective defender is far more valuable to us than a striker who may not score all that many goals (and particularly if we don't sort a decent creative midfielder out). Not saying he isn't decent, I just think he has had more than enough time to obtain the status of prolific, and that hasn't happened for him.
In fairness to him, he hasn't really had a run in the side.
I have no doubts with a regular run, he'd bag a lot of goals... it's just he seems unlikely to ever get that run.
In my hypothetical deal, I'll stretch it to bender+£2m and a drunk hamster called Gerald for samba
Gerald the drunk hamster won it for me Zaphod so DEAL!
On a more serious note though, I'm sure you're quite right if Nicklas is given a decent run in the team but even we're not affording players such luxuries right now. Take Kalanic for example. A player of ample potential and getting zero game time despite being fit and available to play. It's nonsense.
How long before they start advertising on this website anyway? Surely whoever has made it isn't forking out from the goodness of their heart to pay for it all.

thats about the only good thing about my work's netowrk being so limited... it has an adblocker, so i don't see ads on any sites
Wouldn't mind to me one of those adblockers too!
Meh. Wouldn't mind to GET me one of those adblockers too I meant. Yay, no 3 minute rule.
Keith Andrews has got to go because the Blackburn end have no respect for the lad. Samba wanted to go after Allardyce left so no change there. Think we should go in for
Scholes ?
"Think we should go in for Scholes ?"
I would love to watch Paul Scholes playing in a Rovers shirt, but cannot see it happening as I think he will want top remain a one club player.
What an amazing player he has been and one of my all time PL favourites. The number of times he has scored and hurt us in matches over his career is testimony to his abilities.
Scholes in a Tugay role for a season or two would certainly do for me and it would be good to have some proven quality, winning mentality and CL experience at the club to firstly oversee the playing style changes anticipated by the new owners and to also help our younger players develope and grow.
Absolutely no link to Scholes and I hope it stays that way.
One thing is for sure it will be more interesting than last summer regarding transfers at least.

Yeh, especially if we are in the Championship. In fact it has been much more interesting ever since we got lumbered with the Venky's, just less successful and enjoyable.
certainly LESS successful and LESS enjoyable. Would not have seen Sam having the defenders kick about anongst themselves to earn a useless (?) draw
Samba £15m or £25m plus Bentdner
Scholes would get 84 red cards a season for us...
And Vinjay has a point, I used to watch with interest whether our well run club could again profit on a turkey and snap up a bargain. The resultant top half finish was all the more satisfying.
This year we can look forward to being linked with every player that was decent five years ago, lied to by our owners and purchasing nobodies resulting in another delegation battle...
Ahhh progress!
