It’s tough one tbf , it’s actually the end of the 2nd Elizabethan period of our history so it’s a big one.
On a level with the Victorian period
I can’t believe some people think it’s appropriate to play games. The right thing to do is wind it down and restart in October. The Queen has died ffs.

I agree that it's a huge moment in our history, so if sporting fixtures are postponed this weekend, should we not also close cinemas, postpone concerts and theatre performances as a mark of respect?
We are not getting a bank holiday so why should football stop
I just don't get stopping sporting events, why not close everything then? Plenty of normal people earn a living from sporting events, it's just another industry.
Whatever is done will not suit all, there are many different views and opinions on many aspects of recent events and everyone has a he right to their opinion. I'll be happy either way and respect whatever decision that is made.

Trying too hard with this one. You're usually more subtle?
All the upcoming sporting fixtures should carry on as normal,

They won’t, deal with it
Like it or not, some things are just much bigger and much more important than your own shallow and fairly ignorant agenda
I’m glad that people who hold your kind of views and feel that this is some kind of inconvenience are in minority
I expect the domestic fixtures will be cancelled but next weeks European game will go ahead - I'll roll with whatever decision is made.
Of course people will be disappointed but it's literally a once in a lifetime event.
The Government should make sure train companies etc should offer refunds for anyone who was travellling to away games.

Fair enough. Will be interesting to see how it pans out, will also be tricky for teams playing in europe, could even benefit them getting playing time and building on match fitness whilst others stand still.

If sporting fixtures are stopped, should other forms of entertainment be postponed/re-scheduled as a mark of respect? My opinion is that the nation can show respect for the passing of our Queen at sport events, theatres, cinemas and concerts, whilst still continuing with the event.
The Government will have a say in this and as the day of the funeral would mean a bank holiday if it was held on a weekday, I think they'll press for a Saturday.
That will mean no games next weekend unless we have a full programme on Sunday.

current suggestion is that the games will go ahead, but with 90 minutes of silence at the etihad

90 minutes of noise if it had been at Old Trafford because there wouldn't be any British people there.

This.
Hundreds of sporting venues singing the National Anthem this weekend would be a fine send-off imo.
Celebrate her life this weekend and mourn her passing next.
Postpone any sporting fixtures this weekend and the moment will be lost.
I think they'll be postponed, as King Charles will be officially proclaimed as King tomorrow.
He has already been officially proclaimed King Charles the Third.
