Akhtar was more than just quick, he was possibly the fastest bowler in the history of the game, and had an intimidatory factor, I remember when England would play Pakistan, Waqar and Akram would not scare me when they came on (for some unknown reason) but Akhtar would be he was rapid!
Good bowler and should be remembered in my opinion

Response to his claim that Tendulkar was afraid to bat against him has been unnecessarily negative. It's Shoaib's autobiography and hence its his opinion which he is perfectly entitled to.His aspiration to work in Bollywood(true or not) cant deter his from been critical of an Indian maestro.
Also, I believe he has been misunderstood in the past for his partylike lifestyle. He had attributes that some of his teammates did nt.Like , never heard any match/spot fixing allegation against him or conspiring against the current captain.

I have no problem in him saying Tendulkar was afraid of him, but saying Akram ruined his career is just wrong. Yes, he can write whatever he wishes, but it's quite obvious he's only doing it to cause more problems. About the spot-fixing etc... You make out as if he was the most well behaved Cricketer!- Yes, he always gave it his all for Pakistan, but he never listened to anyone.

Shoaib was a hero on the pitch as far as i am concerned, quality bowler with raw pace. A joy to watch.

Off the pitch, he's just a tw3t, that's best left alone.
