Feel for Spence don't think Conte needed to come out with those kind of remarks publicly.

Conte has made no bones about the fact it was a club signing rather than one of his. Hopefully he'll get given time in the European/cup games.

He could have just said he's miles off where I want him to be....like he did with others.

If he doesn't even play the early rounds of the League Cup and FA Cup then I don't think he'll make it at Spurs under Conte. There are no easy games in the Champions League so I doubt he'll play much at all in Europe. It's not like the Europa where you get to play the likes of Carrier Bag and give minutes to your young players.

It's not the toughest group and we've already got off to a good start. Hoping he gets 1 or 2 starts or comes on. I mean with the change in amount of subs you'd wonder how he wouldn't see games.

If he doesn't then yeah Conte clearly doesn't fancy him. I would therefore hope he'd just get loaned out in January or next summer. It's quite possible he could still outlast Conte at Spurs in another year's time.

If things go really well and we've qualified after 4 or 5 games then it would be wise to give him some minutes. You're right, he could outlast Conte, though between the two of them I'd much rather Conte stays at Spurs longterm.

Of course. We'd need to try and give Spence enough chance to develop. He's got a lot of good attributes and is young, and we're not exactly swimming in British players at the moment as it is.

I think it's a great shame Conte doesn't seem to rate him. Maybe it's a pride thing, where Conte didn't ask for Spence so he's got the hump a bit that he finds himself with Spence in the squad.

Can't believe it would be this but perhaps he isn't training well? Who knows. It's a strange one considering Emerson isn't exactly undroppable.

Richarlison 8.1: Champions league brace pushes him ahead of Perisic
Perisic - 7.9: assists and deadball skills have been impressive
Bissouma - 6.3: still finding his feet
Lemglet
Spence: 5.8: showed us his pace in his cameos. Should be an asset against tired legs
Lenglet: 6.6 classy and receives the ball on a half term. Something Davies needs to learn.
Forster: N/A
Udogie: Italian rating 7.8 getting plaudits in Serie A and might be getting into National team.

Looking a top talent

Richarlison outstanding and fast becoming my favourite player. Breathe of fresh air he’s been and adds so much depth. Perisic brilliant signing as well and gives us that creativity. Disappointed in Bissouma who I thought was really going to be a starter, but plenty of time for him. Spence I’m disappointed hasn’t got any games.

Hopefully Spence and Doherty will play in the league cup game. That is the only real opening I can see for him.

The only summer signing that really improves the first 11 is Perisic and that’s also because Sessegnon isn’t all that. Perisic is pure class.

Richarlason might force his way in but Kulu reminded us on Weds what we miss when he doesn’t play.

Not sure how much better Lenglet is than Davies yet - could be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Richarlison improves the first 11 while Son continues to be poor.

posted on 10/9/22

Always been impressed by Perisic every time I’ve seen him. Definitely a good signing for any team, only thing that counts against him is age really.

posted on 10/9/22

Perisic - 9/10, top quality player, we should already be trying to add another year on to that 2 year contract

Richy 9/10, we’ve needed that personality and fighting spirit, oozes determination

Bissouma - will come very good, I’ve no doubt, 6/10 so far as he has not had loads of opportunity yet

Lenglet - 7/10, looked assured when he has been called upon

Udogie - 9/10 - going to the top

Spence - can’t rate him, he hasn’t played and wasn’t a Conte signing, I don’t know why we didn’t loan him

Fortster - back up keeper, no point doing a rating

posted on 10/9/22

Takes at least a season to really judge any player really. Be patient 😂

posted on 10/9/22

I think that’s why the title says ‘so far’

posted on 10/9/22

As much as I like Richarlison, Perisic has been better for us so far

posted on 10/9/22

Perisic - 8/10 looks pretty good, 1st team standard

Richy 8.5/10 let's not jump to conclusions based on a handful of games, but he looks very useful so far

Bissouma - 7/10 looked awful in his full start, but in a few minutes against fulham(?) looked a different player. Think he's going to form a great partnership with PEH. If I had to bet, I'd say this guy will be the best asset to the club out of all the signings.

Lenglet - 4/10 Looked useful pre-season. Looked bang average in season. If he doesn't improve sharpish then people will start realising this sooner or later

Udogie - 9/10 - going to the top

Spence - can’t rate him

Fortster - no point doing a rating

It’s great that the squad has better depth on paper but we all know we needed top players to come in to the first team.
Like a CB (Lenglet to cover until we get Bastoni next summer - who we should have gone all out for this summer. Top teams get the players they want. Full stop) and a RWB. I really want Royal to be that but he just isn’t - he’s a really good RB though.
A creative midfielder too.
Also, a long term replacement for Hugo is urgent - needs to be bought in the summer and integrated next season for the one after to phase Hugo out. We will also need to be looking at Kane legacy and who we’re getting to fill his position - again, you buy them a season before you need them so they can integrate for a season and don’t have the pressure of having to be ready to go straight away. We won’t do this though as Levy is still in charge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We should be thinking of a long term replacement for Hugo but it isn't urgent. He is still in good form and doing well for the most part. Have to go back to form at the end of Poch's reign for when he had a poor spell.

The Kane situation is a more nuanced one. We probably could have brought in another striker this summer as back up but with Kane seemingly going to be staying for at least another season or 2, and still only late 20's and scoring goals, he isn't going to get dropped much, and we have Richarlison now who can cover this area.
