Good striker. Not in the same class as Ronaldo, Messi or Suarez
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he's in the same class as Suarez. As a striker I believe he surpasses Suarez.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Guarantee there is not a club on earth that would take prime Lewandowski over prime Suarez. Third best player of our generation without question and not only has he scored 500+ goals he is also like the second or third highest assister of all time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Respectfully disagree with almost everything here.

Lewa has more than a hundred more senior goals than Suarez I believe, is still banging them in in La Liga at a rate, has scored a greater proportion of his club goals in elite leagues, and has scored his international goals for a (by far) inferior team.

At pretty much any point in their careers I’d have taken Lewa over Suarez at United personally, and Suarez wouldn’t be close to the top three players of his generation, IMO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You are so far off it is quite staggering

In what way? If I’ve made an error in the second paragraph, please correct me.

Is there not at least an argument that one of Lewa, Xavi, Iniesta, Zlatan, Modric, Busquets or Ramos, say, was a better player or had a better career than Suarez? Would you really argue that Suarez was a better player than any of them “without question” ?

I think a lot of those in the game and a lot of fans would disagree with you.

I’d personally go for peak Suarez over peak Lewa. Both brilliant players but Suarez was just that bit more exciting and had great chemistry with others for me. Lewa could do some jaw dropping things but Suarez was one of those rare players that could create something out of nothing.

Hell I might go for peak Suarez over peak Lewandowski i.e. the one in his last season at Liverpool to early Barcelona. That said I still think Lewandowski is the better striker. More goals, more consistency with a peak that is continuing at age 34.

Someone having a better peak, which is debatable between the 2 anyway, shouldn't necessarily mean they're the better player if their peak didn't last as long.

Most underated forward EVER due to the league he plays in. Yes he struggles internationally because he can only play in the box or around the 18 yard and his international team cant get the ball there, but in the box he is a stone cold killer. He can do any type of finish. The stuff Benzema was lauded for last season Lewandowski does it 10 times better.

As a finisher he is way better than Haaland aswell. Was shocked Thierry say Mbappe is better, no facking way. People are obsessed with all round players but this guy is elite.

Enjoy the goals.

Like i said, Suarez has 500+ goals and 277 assists. Third highest all time. That is phenomenal. A far more complete forward by some distance.

Doesn't Lewandowski have more goals? No idea how many assists but must have near 100. He's still extremely prolific so expect it to keep going up.

More goals in a piiis easy league. And not many more considering he spends his life in and around the box while Suarez does far far more for team mates.

And to be clear i am not saying Lewandowski isn't a great striker, he is. His all around game just isn't close to Suarez.

Well Lewandowski does a lot for team mates by scoring goals which is the most important thing you can do on the pitch.

I'm not arguing that Suarez has or had more to his game but Lewandowski with a more limited skillset is still better at his one skill and is doing it for longer, so there is that.

Also re: the weak league argument, I assume you are including Suarez's goals in Eredivisie in his overall numbers?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Scoring goals for Bayern is probably the easiest job in football. Yeah Suarez scored goals in Holland, but he was also surrounded by inferior players.

And Lewandowski is a great goalscorer, no doubt about that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it was as easy as you make out, then all of Bayern's forwards would be getting over 20 goals but only Lewandowski did. Unlike with the MSN trio at Barcelona when all 3 players got over 20 league goals. That was arguably easier to score in.

Lewandowski has taken goalscoring in the Bundesliga to heights not seen since the 70's. Only one other player has got over 30 goals since that time - Aubameyang. Lewa has done it multiple times. Compare that with the PL and I can already think of 6 who got over 30 goals. Maybe it's not as easy as you think? And besides he has a great record in the CL against much better teams to back it up.

Suarez has 523 goals in total if including internationals, which I'm guessing Cinci is doing. Lewandowski has 627 if you include internationals so maybe more assists to add on top of that figure. And he's about a year and a half younger.

Give it another year and a half and he'll probably have close to 700 goals and 150+ assists. So yeah as impressive if not more so.
