PSV at home

Think we'll go strong whether the Brentford match goes ahead on Sunday or not. PSV are our strongest rivals in the group. Beating them on Thursday would put us in a very strong position early in the group stage.

I have a feeling we will go close to full strength even if the Brentford game is on. It might be that we go with Martinelli Eddie Jesus on the basis of giving Eddie a game and the fact that Saka will be going on international duty but the others won't be.

Could try Tomi and Tierney with Zinchenko in midfield as well to see how that looks.

Given Jesus, Gabriel and Martinelli have not been included by Brazil, I guess there is little reason to leave them out. Think it will be a shame if Vieira and Marquinhos aren't given a run out, and personally would continue to rest Saka even if Brentford is called off.

Also wonder if we will see a White/Saliba CB partnership. I have a feeling Gabriel has made too many mistakes and may be dropped soon, so it could be the time.

English teams getting yet another winter break, this time just a few games into the season, after the three they have already had this season. They will yet again complain about being tired, blaming having to play the same number of fixtures as other top leagues as the reason that couldn't compete with them.

I'd imagine the SPL could continue relatively unaffected during the World Cup, no Barry?

Celtic have half the Japanese WC team ain't they?

Should go strong. Brentford game likely to be called off. Following week is an International break. Meaning next game is v Tottenham H

Should go full strength including Partey if he’s fit. The only players I’d possibly rest are Xhaka, Martinelli and Gabriel on the basis the Brentford game goes ahead.

Surely the decision on next weekends games can be made by now?
I guess London games are most at risk, especially Sunday. I also assume that they will have to decide if they can have a mix of games going ahead and games postponed.

I agree, they should be making a call on whether games are or off, or some on, London ones off, now. Not waiting to see what the 'political landscape' or public feeling is.

Supporters will need to book / cancel trains, flights, hotels etc.

There's no reason to delay an announcement.

You mean for the public to be told how they are feeling? I'm sorry you're too sad for football.

PSV won 1-0 today. 94th minute penalty scored by Gakpo.

Surely they’ll have to play but just do it behind closed doors. Fecking crap and unfair for fans and businesses etc, but when else can they fit these games in? Everyone is already playing twice a week before the World Cup. Unless they reschedule for post World Cup at some point. Seems the simplest solution is behind closed doors to avoid the complications of rescheduling

Sorry guys, Sky just announced that your PSV game is OFF. Policing given as the problem.
Personally I think this whole business is now now totally out of control, with little if any thought to just when these games will be caught up.

Chelsea allowed to play though, and no news on Sundays game yet

Just postpone the funeral. Europa is more important

Just play them behind closed doors, can't have a fixture pile up. Having said that though the game on Thursday should be going ahead I could understand if it was on the day of the funeral or maybe the day before. It's not really acceptable, it should go ahead with either the Government or the Met providing damages for lost revenue.

Should have just played it in Eindhoven. Should have made the decision on Friday. More than enough time to organise it.

That seems too logical. Better to just cancel and kick that can down the road.
