Two strong sides here with Villa just about winning the form slot. That's just about all they won as an 7th minute tackle from behind from Varane on Haaland led to the Frenchman's dismissal and a penalty to the home side, which was duly dispatched by Haaland. Enzo Fernandez was running things in the middle for Chelsea and he got a quality assist with a delightful dinked ball for Mbappe to run onto and finish. Cancelo added a third on the half hour mark with a scramble in the box with the ball being bundled into the net. The half time whistle couldn't come faster for the temporary Villa manager Fan Gerrard but he was able to work a little bit of his magic in the second half when Maddison was able to find Lewa in the box who rifled a first time shot into the top corner. Villa huffed and puffed to try and get a second but Chelsea played smart for the remainder of the game and there was no further goals.

Man United 1-2 Chelsea

Two teams oozing quality in all fairness. Very hard to separate the two teams. Home slots always lended me to think United, but marginally better form for Chelsea and despite United's evident riches in quality (some utterly insane talents - fair play 👍) Haaland and Mbappe in the same team is bonkers.
