Recent spurs managers who have won less trophies during their tenure than Arteta

Antonio Conte
Nuno Espirito Santo
Ryan Mason
Jose Mourinho
Mauricio Pochettino
Tim Sherwood
Andre Villas-Boas
Harry Redknapp

You would nearly have a point if you took out the ones that hadn’t been in the job as long as arteta……

That would be a fairer comparison

The list still not great but not as bad

6 months at the time of the FA Cup win wasn't it?

Personally I think I've been generous.

We've won more top 4 trophies than we've won FA cups and we've won more FA Cups than any other club. The FA Cup has also been running around 120 years longer than the top 4 trophy. There are 4 top 4 trophies awarded every year and only 1 FA Cup.

So that tells you everything you need to know about why winning the FA cup ranks higher than winning the top 4 trophy, and why Arteta after 6 months at Arsenal had brought more success to Arsenal than any spurs manager has to spurs since Venables.

So all managers now need to win a cup within 6 months of getting the job ?

This stat or whatever you want a call it has no relevance whatsoever

Didn’t di matteo win the champions league with Chelsea in less time?

That worked out well didn’t it

It’s just another one of top forms lists / jibes etc of having constant pops at Tottenham ……..it’s a shame as when he isn’t preoccupied with basing spurs he makes some decent points but he can’t leave Tottenham alone

Why the chip on the shoulder I don’t know….his team is currently doing better

No point responding to the strawman

I'm responding to one of your fans, on my board, who's said that Arteta has done nothing but finish 8th 8th and 5th but conveniently left out the fact that he won the FA cup 6 months into his tenure which is bigger trophy than any of your managers have won since venables.

Have a read back of SteveF's post and tell me why I should just roll over and not defend my manager on my own board?

Really can't see what's wrong with it, especially as all I've done is state facts.

I don't think it's even worth discussing

He's built a young exciting team and I'm excited about that. Lets see how the rest of the season goes.

That's my original post blackpole, the rest is just defending Arteta against blatant disrespect from your fans.

Blackpole.

Is Arteta a better manager than all those spurs managers I've listed, no not at all, I wouldn't say Arteta was better than the ones that weren't interim managers. I have a lot of respect for those managers, and in particular I thought Poch did wonders for your club. I have a lot of respect for Conte and I'm interested to see how he fairs at your club.

Arteta hasn't proved himself to be a top manager yet as far as I'm concerned, but he doesn't deserve to be given the stick that SteveF gave him. SteveF left things wide open by saying that the manager should be judged on tenure then reeling off a load of stats to diss him. I can apply that same logic by pointing out how many trophies he's won compared to spurs managers.

You're right I have wummed spurs a fair bit I'm bored of it now so you'll see less from me on that. You'll see I let Ace and Devon have a pop because it's fair game. But if plums like SteveF are continually crossing the line when dissing us then I'm going to give it back.

I wouldn’t take it so seriously ^ you were completely within your rights to defend against the wums. Thing is spurs are so easy to attack as they have an abnormal lack of success
