Shearer (just kidding but heard he has applied)
I'd love to have Billy back, but considering that Mark Arthur is making the decision there is almost no chance of that.
I think we could do a lot worse than Keane under the circumstances.
I think while O'Neill and Pearce are both unrealistic targets, they would do a great job, if they could live within the financial limitations. I would go bonkers to see Robertson on the bench with O'Neill as well.
keane is a legend of a player but i still think he's carrying that into his managerial career.
lets be honest, he had one very good season at sunderland when they got promoted and the rest has been pretty ordinary
If Mark Arthur lets his own personal feelings towards Billy Davies get in the way of bringing him back then he will deserve all the spite and vitriol that will surely be aimed at him.
Completely agree McFlorist. I can't even believe MA is still there. A great deal of the protesting was surely aimed at him and in fact if he had just gone and ND and SM remained, then most people would have been relatively happy. He better get this one right or, as you say, he better get prepared!

I think he is about the worse appt we could make. Keane has never managed a side with no funds and he hasn't exactly set the world on fire with the money he's spent at Sunderland and Ipswich.

Who would you prefer then?
I would prefer Keane over Robinson, Ferguson, or Shearer.
I would put Keane on the same level as Nigel Clough, but definitely below Pearce and O'Neill.
ElyRed - that is the big worry with Keane. He has always had funds to spend and has only really had one decent season when Sunderland got promoted. Thing is though, O'Neill has always had money to spend and then the likes of Robinson, Tisdale and Clark have no experience at this level, so would be a gamble. Same could be said for Pearce. O'Driscoll may be a good option, though I would not want Brown or Shearer, so who does that leave?? Billy Davies!

Im one of few Trickys that doesn't want Billy back.as much as I am grateful for what he done at our club, the bottom line was he failed, especially that night against 10 man Swansea for 89 mins. Tisdale is my man, yes he is unproven but he started at a university team then took Exeter into Lge 2, then Lge 1 and missed out by 1 point for a play off place to the championship. With the way our owner wants to go in running the club he is the perfect man, academy and lower lge players, the times of splashing millions have sadly gone and I think it's time our supporters had a reality check, so no to keane, no to o'neil, no to Billy,
Well he's 11/8 now. Could all change tomorrow so no need to panic just yet!
Ram in peace. Just like to say lads, your next appointment has got to be the right one, cause if he does get sacked he will be wanting compensation, unlike your last manager, so he has got to get the candidate spot on.
we don't want keano
he was a good player, awful manager.
he's gone to Evens at Skybet!
bet keane will get the job with mcparland as is no2 like at ipswich. becouse they want ex forest men, and with martha picking the manager this is what we will get. martha out out.is
