hindsight is a wonderful thing

Martin Terrier been banging goals in for Rennes, was linked to him, as were Liverpool. Could be one to go gor in the summer. Frustrating that Brentford signed Toney from Peterborough for 10 when we almost blew 17 mil on Augustin. They got Watkins and Henry cheap for good prices too.

The issue for clubs with our finances and pulling power is buying the best player you can get now v investment in players with potential. We are typically looking at sell on value particularly in the higher ticket value forward players. Hence the interest in CDK.

The one I liked the look of in terms of PL readiness and all round game was Martin terrier. But he wasn’t going to be cheap and he was 25. In his prime so considered to have reached his ceiling transfer wise. But he’s continued to bang them in for Rennes this year.

To be fair we were a consistent/experienced striker away from the last 2 matches being won, not lost. Chances in both that someone in a bit of form would have put away at least one of the chances that seemed harder to miss. Can't keep squandering scoring chances in this league.

never said we didn't need a striker, we were in for a few, the op has named 3 who as of yet have not performed, so is suggesting we dodged a bullet? then names an unproven striker in the prem, who scored only 12 goals last season. just cos he has 8 in 10 so far, then yes hindsight

paddy will come good, mark my words, we will be fine

That's the crux of it, everyone knows a match fit Paddy is a real asset in this league but a post injury, misfiring Paddy is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination.

We also know full well that the goal scoring chances in the PL is much lower unless you are a Man City as the standard of the opposition is strong.

We really dont have the luxury of waiting to see him click but I also have to be honest and state that I'm not sure what the answer is as has been pointed out , Rod looking cliniical only 20 % of games is also a luxury.

Do we go for bust and invest in January it's a real conundrum.

"He couldn’t hit a barn door if it fell on his head."

He wouldn't have to hit it, it'd be hitting him!..

Ouch!..

And mentioning Salah and Bamford in the same breath, if we were to swap them we'd end up paying more then Bamford is worth on top off the price!..

Bamford needs a game or three to get back up to scratch, no reason's for him not to score the way he was before injury!..

no real reason to miss sitters and pens either.
coming back from injury ok, but in my mind he's doing the hard stuff and fluffing the easy. ( not the pen, the sitters )

only 12 goals? that would easily surpass our top scorer last year. and there's no reason to think just because someone's not scoring at one team he wouldn't be scoring at another.

Toney’s a handfulBut 40% of his goals in the Prem have been from penalty spot. Not knocking that, they still need scoring as paddy proved yesterday, but Jack Harrison scored more in open play than Toney last year.

Bambi is already top of the missed goal-scoring opportunities (8) list, and he's hardly been on the pitch. This is a failed relationship, people, but we keep coming back for more.
