Tbf to Gio he has more points on the board 11 games into this season compared to Slippy at the same stage last season.

Hence why I said in the live thread yesterday that performance relative to us is just as big a factor in fan opinion as absolute performance. Slippy was a dead man walking too but we'd hired an Aussie dud and playing teenagers and Japanese no-marks so it was alright. Only once Kyogo started hammering them in did the bears start getting tetchy.

Agree to a certain extent...but we can't change the players until January, the board won't change....and considering what he did with a similar group of players not that long ago, what we are getting now is night and day in comparison

Not so sure about that mate.
The team they had was far better than the one now. They’ve sold Aribo and Bassey who to me were two of their most influential players and replaced them with squad players at most.
Kent, and Morelos particularly knew the end game was coming and were thinking about their next move way too early. They’ve not kicked a ball all season and Morelos even longer. Tavernier clearly has a niggling injury whilst McGregor and Davies are yet another year older and toiling even more.
The whole team is falling apart. GvB is employed to state his case and demand more backing and better signings. He’s not in that job because he needs the money. He’s there to one day hopefully get a bigger and more high profile job.
He’s complicit in what is happening. He’s supposed to be in charge and not only is he not setting and sticking by his own standards, it’s clear he doesn’t trust the squad he has. He is ultimately responsible.
Long may he stay because unless he gets some serious money to spend and the quality of signings drastically improves; that side will be even worse next season.
