Like him. Inherited an unusual situation as the squad was very literally built for (and by) another manager & has done pretty well.
The football, aesthetically, has improved marginally which in the timeframe is good. The boldness in which he's prioritized Kepa shows he knows what he wants & isn't afraid to commit to his ideas. Been tactically flexible but not gone over the top. Can't argue with the results thus far but it's far too early for that, the squad's talented & the previous manager left in a bad period so he'd have to be incompetent for the results not to pick up.
All in all very satisfied. Looking forward to seeing more.
Given your squad issues and injuries it’s unsurprising you’re still playing crap. Your players have been vastly overrated and the CL win - which was inspired by the manager and some brilliant form from players that can’t sustain that level - has led to people thinking it’s much bette than it is.
O K my thoughts, although it's still early days yet,and as you say, a most odd season all around !
Man U... 5/10... did well to get a draw.
Beez...6/10...a typical derby against a determined team.
Villa...4/10...well we won !
Milan...7/10...thought we were pretty good.
Wolves ...8/10...looking better.
Palace...6/10...typical derby game.
Salzburg ...6/10...Pots was still new.
Zagreb...5/10...Pots 1st game so!
I must agree on RLC and Jorghi in CM,never again I hope.
Puli and Zyech ,am still not convinced.
More Broja and Gallagher please.
Potter first game was Salzburg

The two issues this squad has are consistency & keeping concentration for 90 mins, the talent when it finds these two things is unquestioned imo. It's proven in enough big games the last 2-3 years that when everyone's focussed we can match anyone. It's played in four major finals & turned up in three of them, and not surprising to me the one where it didn't was the only one we were favourites for.
The main personal gripe I have with it is it doesn't feel like one I've come to being associated with Chelsea in my lifetime, but I'm not sure how much of that is down to the stylistic approach of the managers. Thinking defensively is fine, but presenting the appearance of an attacking team while doing so is very strange to me.
But that quality was based on the defensive ability and tactical brilliance of Tuchel. You can’t expect to perform in the league with such weak attackers and injury prone key players.

im more along your lines of thinking. I think we've paid over the odds for a lot of average players. Havertz, werner, lukaku, ziyech, sterling before that bakayoko, drinkwater, jury still out on cucurella, koulibaly (looking better) and others too.

marginally is generous tbf kepa has been in inspired form (carried on from last year) Which has kept us in games. Let's see how we get on tonight, the short turn around (less than 72 hours) will be a challenge
Why bother...he's just going to be fired within 2-3 years

It has a bit, I do stress a bit but it has
But that's not something I expect to be correct for a couple of years tbh. It's our fault, we had a great thing going appointing pragmatic managers - everyone on the inside & watching from the outside knew who Chelsea were & it worked. This identity problem (I don't wanna say crisis, it's not that bad) was unnecessary & we did it to ourselves.
Salzburg (a) -8/10- great team perfomance last night. Brilliant.
As I said Nick,I wanted a virtuoso performance and we got it ! 9/10.
Just the finishing letting us down and inevitably letting salzburg back in ! But other than that was fantastic. Silva and chalobah.

bit harsh calling it a mistake, he pressed a bit too high that was it.
0/10 - Another poor performance. But one we was expecting. Most of us thought we would lose today but it's the manner of the defeat. I had trossard to score a brace too and he had 6 shots ffs but only 1 goal.
Terrible bar kovacic. Horrid team selection.
